Pekka Rinne has more points than the entire Blackhawks team. A god damn goalie has scored more than the entire opposing fucking team. Christ, Chicago, get your 2nd-best-record-in-team-history shit together!!
NBA that is an 8 week injury, minimum. Much less going back into the game.

Definitely need to go back to the 1-8 format. Division rivalries are made by playing... wait for it... intra-division regular season games.
There are only like 4 games against each divisional opponent now.
I do understand the potential inequality of the current system. It existed under the old systems too. The 3rd seed, the weakest Division winner would face a fortunate 6th seed, while 4 vs 5 was usually fairly stacked. Before that, the Divisional playoffs existed and you would see teams cruise into the playoffs, beneficiaries of a weak Division. Even the 'perfect' NFL has it when you have a shitty division with an 8-8 winner.
Im not sure what the answer is to the best formatting and playoff structure. I actually liked the NHL's original proposal a few years ago that basically named 4 'conferences' and each team played one another 5 times, and against each other conference teams 2x. Then the playoffs would be done completely within the conference and the final 4 got re-seeded.
Or alternate non-conference opponents kinda like the NFL does. One year you play one division in the other conference, the next year you play the other.

I could get behind this idea. I dig it.
Up 3-0 on tberg's Wild. I'm quite shocked actually. I picked the Wild to represent the west in the finals. However, as a Blues fan, there's no feeling of easiness within me. If any team is capable of blowing a lead like this...it's the Blues. They love to break my heart.
These OT playoff games are really starting to suck ESPECIALLY when your team doesn't come out on top that said...... GO BRUINS!

Getting swept hurts all offseason. Worse than not making the playoffs I think. I say you guys make it to game 6 or 7. That starts with a win tonight. In 2014 the Kings skull fucked San Jose down 0-3 and I never thought it was going to happen -- until it did.

Was that the same year they had a 3-1 lead on the Hawks in the WCF and we forced game 7, which went to OT (and we ultimately lost)? Man that was a heartbreaker, but one hell of a series!

And also, didn't we have 2-goal leads twice in that game 7? I might be wrong on that but I do recall at least being up 2-0 in the 1st. That really was a heartbreaker... I need to stop thinking about it, lol!
Hope the Hawks at least get ONE fucking win tonight. Christ.
I can't believe the Hawks are going down in the 1st round for the 2nd year in a row. So disappointing....I was fully expecting a deep playoff run here. Still waiting for the captain to show up....
Will be interesting to see if they make any significant moves this offseason....definitely need to start getting younger on defense.

Yeah, I'm sure that hurt! Heart attack playoffs but ended up lifting the cup.

Didn't know the NBA played with pucks.
Hmmmmm, It was as a joke. Could have been a ball, bat, knee, etc. Just Hockey players would have had an injury like that and gone back into the same game.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
How is a team every supposed to have any sense of success when front offices won't give management a chance? This one and done crap is getting way out of hand. You can't expect a team to be successful when you're constantly bringing in new GM's, new coaches, etc every year or two. The players will NEVER get used to a system that way and the team is destined for nothing but failure.

I heard rumors that some of the sabres players didn't want dan to be their coach including Eichel but who knows if that is true. but I agree with you about teams firing people so soon after they hired them.
