How can you not have the Bears in the top 5? They ARE the NFL.

i would ditch the the raiders and pats and replace them with the

bears and maybe the niners, or giants or skins. i'd have to think about that.

hell, i would have the browns higher than both the pats and raiders.

Im not too familiar with the pre super bowl era teams but i believe the giants and skins are up there with the pack and bears then.

Hard to believe the bears only have 1 superbowl victory if they dominated the pre superbowl era.

  • they were not a dynasty, but the ram's "greatest show on turf" were fun to watch. those teams put up some serious numbers and revolutionized the offensive side of the ball in 1999 and early 2000s. and they did it all with an undrafted, unheralded quarterback that nobody had ever heard of, kurt warner.

  • Patriots for sure in the top 5, cmon... 123-40 since 01. no one is even close to that. 3 superbowl titles, i think this recent successs far outweighs their early struggles.

This is where our age difference is going to show.

One good decade doesn't erase 40 years of a sub .500 record. At least, not enough to land you in the top 5 teams ALL TIME.

I wouldn't have the Pats there.

if this was top 5 since 01, sure...but the topic was top 5 ALL TIME....just in case anybody cares...the pats have been around since 1960

championship eggs include a 51-10 beat down by the chargers in '63, a memorable 46-10 drubbing by the Da Bears and of course the 07 not so perfect season.

Same here...it was hard to bare through the years of the 70's but I did only to witness the last ten years. I wouldn't have the Patriots in the top 5 maybe #11.

  • Bears are 6 because they have only won 1 super bowl!

Packers have the most titles overall with bears up there

Steelers have the most superbowls and tied with Dallas with most sb appearances

Dallas has biggest stadium and most money!

Patriots are 123-40 since 01? well i think you should look at the Steelers record for that same time frame....i bet its about as good or maybe even better! Lets look that one up!

I think my top 5 are it!

I agree with you 81 Except take the giants out for the cowboys and put the giants on the list of possible no. 5s, def no pats though, IMO ten years can't take you from the bottom 5 to the top 5

Not taking anything away from what the Pats have done the last 10 years but for a long time they were a joke of a team. All teams have tough years and stretches but to be in the top 5 of all time you have to be an organization of proven consistency- not a team that was considered a joke. I would go with:

    Packers
    Bears
    Steelers
    Cowboys
    Giants

    Steelers
Cowboys (I hate to admit it)
Redskins (I hate to admit it)

i had the cowbows as one of the contenders for number 5...over the long haul, i think the giants deserve a top 4 slotting
