I just saw the same model Pantagonia backpack in another color at a store and now I am kicking myself for not ordering one
. As you can tell by my post count I am obviously on here a lot and I am several hours to ponder over whether I needed one or not. I travel a lot and it would be great to have. I suck lol.

I looked through every pocket and was kind of confused...
Does it REALLY come with a whistle? Where is it?
And I thought it came with some sort of water/camelback type of thing, but did not see that or the tube (which I figured must be purchased separately?)_.... what am I missing here.ABQ 93, Las Cruces 95, ABQ 98, Bridge School 10/30/99, Lubbock 00, ABQ 00, Denver 03, State College 03, San Diego 03, Vegas 03, PHX 03, D.C. 03, Camden 7/5/03, NYC 7/8/03 + 7/9/03, Vegas 06, San Francisco 7/15/06 + 7/16/06 + 7/18/06, Kansas City 10, [EV:ABQ 11/6/12], Chicago 13, PHX 13, Denver 14--PJ24!, Telluride 16, Chicago 8/20/16, Chicago 8/18/18, Phoenix 22, Denver 22, Vegas 5/16/24

The whistle is part of the buckle on the chest strap. I didn't even know it was there until someone posted about it on here.
I'm with you on the camelback thing though, not sure how that works. It looks like there is an opening on the back at the top where a tube could fit through.1998 - Noblesville

I had to look hard for the whistle too, but finally found it. That's handy - I guess the idea is if you went into the wilderness and were lost, you'd could at least make a little noise so people would find you....
I love all the pockets and compartments. I just put my math books in it.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

can only imagine the scenes across the world with people blowing this backpack in the wrong spot
hahahaha0 -
Hehe^
I'm not convinced there is a camelback place. I think that little hole at the top is for headphones to go through and you can have your ipod in the little zip pocket at the top.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

From what I remember reading, the place for the camel pack to go is the pocket the laptop fits in, you can use it for either, and the hole near the top is for the tube. They never said the camel pack was provided with it.

And most of these fools will be framing the backpack and hanging it off a wall, never to be used.
Or, being that youse are Americans, I assume youse aren't particularly good travellers, or get fuck all annual leave from work, so you just end up taking it to work.
How much does it hold anyway? I was vaguely interested, but anything less than 65litres would be useless as a backpack to last through a 3-4 week tour. Just can't trust something that's available for 80 bucks. It's like shopping at fucking Kathmandu. Besides... Patagonia? It's a clothing brand. Macpac and One Planet is where it's at. Ospreys is fair, too.
:P115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!0 -

my original backpack got waterlogged @ PJ20 on Saturday. I never could get the musty funk out of it. I thought this would be an appropriate replacement.Rock me Jesus, roll me Lord...

Has anyone in Canada receive their Patagonia/PJ20 backpack yet?0

Thanks, I will look for the whistle on the snap/band when I get home.
Pretty fancy...
So this thing is really waterproof? That's the feature I'm looking forward to. I was hiking in the rain in Hawaii for a few hours this summer and it was a challenge to keep the camera wrapped up INSIDE the backpack enough to keep it dry... everything got soaked.ABQ 93, Las Cruces 95, ABQ 98, Bridge School 10/30/99, Lubbock 00, ABQ 00, Denver 03, State College 03, San Diego 03, Vegas 03, PHX 03, D.C. 03, Camden 7/5/03, NYC 7/8/03 + 7/9/03, Vegas 06, San Francisco 7/15/06 + 7/16/06 + 7/18/06, Kansas City 10, [EV:ABQ 11/6/12], Chicago 13, PHX 13, Denver 14--PJ24!, Telluride 16, Chicago 8/20/16, Chicago 8/18/18, Phoenix 22, Denver 22, Vegas 5/16/24
