  • I'd say they most definetely visit, mabe even participate here and there. If you look back at posts for song requests to be played live...Leash (though this one went way more public), WMA, Why Go, Lowlight...etc, etc., the band has always come through on them, correct? Though some are still waiting on No Way and a few others to be busted out, you can bet that in due time they will be. The band is well aware of what this board is up to.
Where do i go to soothe my head? Guess i'll turn on music instead.

So do you think we should just opt to change the name from The Pit to The wailing wall?
  • I think the most recent clue was the Rolling Stone interview Ed did in 2007. He talked about fans objecting to his political comments on stage. Quoted right from a pit post.

    Here's the thread about it:

I've always kinda thought the mods might forward particularly interesting/funny posts or threads onto band. I can't picture any of them doing massive amounts of random browsing. Actually, Stone probably would. Yep.... Stone totally would. He's probably tried to get a "Pics where Stone looks even hotter than Ed" thread going a couple times, but the mods pull it to spare his feelings when no one adds photos. Just kidding, I love Stone. :)

Depends on what you want me to believe?

If Pearl Jam would be categorized as a religion/cult... then yes! I'm already a believer! :)

If they come to Finland I'll be really happy ! .. :) But anywhere in Europe would be great! I just need to save some money first.. (again)... Ohh..!! I so .. so..really badly.. need to see them live again! SOON! ;)

Another example is before the Grand Rapids show in 2006, someone was posting on here that they would love the band to cover The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Ed then at the show said "this song is called The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and the band started Daughter and Ed said "Don't hate me". So that was really funny.

Beat me to it. As far as I know this was mostly only talked about on the message boards like here and RM, so unless someone requested to Ed personally that this song be played, than either someone in the band checks the pit occasionally or the mods [or someone] passed it on. If I had to guess it would be the second.

  • If the guys from PJ ever come on this message board to read or post anonamously? I mean, it would sort of give em an idea as to how the fans feel about certain events, feedback from live shows etc.. I know if I were in a band as big as Pearl Jam I would be curious to see what the fans were thinking or had to say. The reason I bring this up is cause about 6 months ago I remember reading a thread about how the Hartford 08 show was gonna suck and PJ never plays a great setlist in Hartford. As we all know Hartford was probably the best show and best setlist of the tour if not ever.Maybe a coincidence, maybe not. Thoughts?

    nope

    i never wondered

I just wish they had videos of that night, of the lawn, of the pit, of the fan on stage for the DEEP mag, etc.

I will personally take credit for two things I posted on the Pit that the band later adopted:

    1) First suggested "Masters of War" replace "Bushleager" as a better protest song (it did / it was)..

    2) Place "Release" in as an "encore" for the 2008 tour setlist (see Bonoroo setlist)..

    not bad..

What made Hartford setlist the best ever? There were like 3 songs that really stand out from the rest of the tour, and the first time big wave was played on the east coast. It was a good show but wasnt the best ever

No, you're right. Not the best ever. But pretty fucking good in my opinion. I think what I liked best about it was the amount of songs that aren't normally played at shows were in this setlist. just my opinion.

what if stone comes on here and says things,
or if eddie reads things about himself.

Oh my lord, and I thought I was going to get some work done this morning.

What show was that when the girl was on stage kissing and hugging Ed?

    Looks like '92.

I don't know...but it would be awesome if Ed started a threat that said "pictures where I look hot"

    Now that would be cool!

But then it would have to be a picture where he is sweating horribly and panting under a scorching sun :D
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

  • I think another good example that they do come on here (or have someone relay to them) is the Bonnaroo setlist. I remember a lot of people saying that it was going to be a "greatest hits setlist"...anyone was there or has heard will vouch for me....IT WASN'T
