As a local and longtime St Paul resident, I wouldn’t stay there. That area is just a tad sketchy.

Spring Hill Suites by Marriot is pretty nice and includes breakfast. About $137/night and 13 minute walk to Xcel.

Check out this place in St. Paul I found on Expedia: https://expe.app.link/q1VyNBYIbzb

Check the Roseville area. It’s not far from the venue (15 minutes or so) and lots of hotels. Traffic will be a bit hectic in the area though with the MN State Fair going on. The fair will draw around 250K+ people a day.

Might want to check AirBNB too. Lots of people head out of town during the fair.

Hey Minnesota locals! I’m going to be making the big trip from New Zealand for the Minneapolis & Chicago shows & hoping I can make it into the pit for a couple of shows at least!
I’ve been something of a PJ tragic since ‘92 and been in the front row of the NZ shows since those insane ‘95 shows. Being in NZ I’ve only seen them 12 times over 30 years but was lucky to be in the pit both Home Shows!
If you’re interested in partnering up on tix or have any tips around my other passions I’ll be hitting up - record stores & breweries- flick me a DM 🙂

I would like to apologize to the person behind me in line, wondering aloud to themselves: "I wonder where the Pearl Jam record is?", as I was quietly tucking the last store copy under my arm.

Brandi Carlisle is at the State Fair on Aug 29th. I wonder if she will stay to hang with the guys or be at the shows.

I used to use Metro Transit (bus and lite rail) regularly prior to the pandemic it get to work. It was decent. Since then I’ve only used it sporadically, mainly to attend Twins games. Like most public transit across the country, its got its problems (drug use/moving homeless shelter). It should be fine on event nights, at least that’s my experience. Will depend on where you’re coming from and going to.

Do note the MN State Fair will be going on during these shows. For those who don’t know, it’s a massive event especially the final weekend. Crowds well over 250K a day attend. A lot of public transportation and ride share resources will be diverted to get people to and from the fair. Expect longer wait times and less service.
