State fair was packed Friday night. My friend ate Alligator bites - I stuck with the roasted corn.
Good live music at some of the little bar tents.
Worth the entrance fee to just buzz around and soak up the local flavors.
had some of that roasted corn at valleyfair last weekend. it was delicious!

So no mention of Jimmy Buffet on September 2nd? That's Interesting.
I thought they might have made mention, or even played a tune of his. Pirate Looks at Fourty would've been a great song for them.  Oh well.

He mentioned his name and people cheered but I can’t remember the context. It wasn’t a little speech about him like he gave for Lou Reed in 2013 or even in the context of losing great musicians when he was talking about Tom Petty and a few others the night before. But his name was mentioned on Saturday. Does anyone else remember the context?

I don't remember exactly why he brought his name up, but I believe it was when he was talking about marijuana being legal in Minnesota now.

Jimmy Buffett, I'm no Parrot Head, but he died on Friday night,  & had some good songs, and had a huge fan base.  Usually when an iconic music figure dies the eve before your show, usually a guy in Eddie's position makes mention, or a small tribute or something.   I was at the Chicago show 2009 I think, a few weeks after Michael Jackson died and Ed & the band played  Neil Young's, I forgot the name of the song. Umm, oh yeah Needle & The Damage Done for Michael Jackson .
If it was a flip comment about some weed salespersons who listening to Jimmy Buffett, that surprises me.  His music made a lot of people happy.  I never went to a show of his, but I know a few diehard Parrot Heads, & for 50 years he packed the amphitheaters with people packing in sand in the back of there pick-up trucks with umbrellas, and blenders for margaritas and beach balls.  Jack Johnson does a great version of Pirate Looks at Fourty, my favorite Jimmy Buffett tune.

Buffett must have been too far center left for PJ's approval.   Not left enough so, canceled probably,  is my best conclusion.    He didn't think that masks or vaccines should be mandated.  Much like Tom Brady,  cancled, That's probably why he was dismissed by what used to be my favorite band of all time.  My my my how they pj have fallen out of my pocket.  They were right for the time, but time has a way of moving on.

1st ever trip to Minnesota, the twin cities were a blast!  Thanks to the Drury hotel for taking care of us and for all of the various breweries and restaurants we visited for such great fare. Manny's in Minneapolis is a must try if you've never been, and Barrell Theory in St. Paul is a great spot. The venue was awesome, and, as always, the band delivered a great performance and a great time.  Pretty easy fight from the east coast and the airport there is a breeze get in/out of, especially compared to some Midwestern places I can think of (cough! cough! O'Hare!!!)
    Thank you, Twin Cities!

I might be biased, but MSP is the best airport I've ever been at in the US. Clean and easy in and out no matter what gate you are at.

I really hope Mauer and Morneau recommended the band return to MN soon. Target Field, the XL energy center, fan club show at first Ave, anything.

I wonder if the band had a good time while here and if they will remember us for the next tour.

I approve of this list. Was at Handsome Hog before the Saturday show. It’s a favorite spot for the wife and I. The collard greens are out of this world!
