Friday morning flight from Boston booked. Now to determine if I'm coming home Sunday or heading directly to Chicago...

Do they have pizza in Minnesota? Or should I say good pizza!
Black Sheep is the best pizza in the Twin Cities. El-Mar is overrated

Just looked up the menu and wow is it expensive!  $24 for a large plain? yikes. $47 for a large sicilian?! wtf.
$160 for a PJ concert ticket? It's $20 for a large Papa Johns pizza.
I'm complaining but my wife and I will definitely be going there for pizza!  Thanks for the recommendation!

I found some of my photos from the '06 shows and thought I'd share....

These are from the 2nd leg of their tour when they opened for Tom Petty at the Xcel Center.

You can see in Ed's face how honored he is to be sharing the stage w/Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Any Locals know how the area is around Drury Plaza Hotel St. Paul-Downtown?

    Safe area?

    Restaurants?

    Safe walk to Xcel?
I've stayed there for quite a few concerts when it was Embassy Suites. Was a very nice hotel(haven't stayed since the brand change over). Big rooms, clean.  It's a safe area, getting to the X is a safe walk, back is sketchy. Very quiet area. I would stay there again but probably have a couple drinks at the Liffy and grab a ride back.

Like the previous poster said it's pretty bleak for reasturnts in that area but it's a 10-15 minute walk to 7 Street where all the restaurants/bars are.
Thank you for that Info. I appreciate it.

What’s the cab/Uber/Lyft situation like in St Paul?  My crew will be there Friday to Monday and will certainly act like tourists.  Should we contemplate renting a car?

Rent a car if you're buzzing around town all weekend. Parking is relatively easy.

Ubers are plentiful, but don't expect to catch one when the show lets out. Might have to go grab a beer and wait for a ride.

Any rumors on an opener yet?

Ben Harper will be in the area, and has gaps in his schedule that line up.

Ben Harper also is opening for The Chicks on other dates in the area, but not the MN State Fair....

    No opener...a night with PJ.

In reality, it will probably be Klinghoffer doing his one man band.

Glen Hansard's U.S. tour ends on 8/29 and he has no other shows until Ohana. He is/would be great.

On the night in-between shows, the St Paul Saints have a home game.  They are the AAA affiliate of the Twins.

It would be great if Ed was one of the announcers at the Saints game. Someone from the organization get on that. :-)

It’s a nice hotel, but there’s nothing around it(within walking distance anyways)…it’s about a 15 minute drive to both downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul

Thanks for the feedback! We'll unfortunately only be sleeping there one night and coming right back home, but I thought I'd see if theres any know before you go type of things such as, it's hard to get in and out, or similar things like that.

In that case, it’s a great hotel for that.  Easy airport access and there’s plenty of Uber/Lyft in the area.  It’s 5 minutes from the Mall of America which has plenty to do to keep you busy for the day.

Saw Blink 182 behind the stage at Xcel last night.
Was actually a pretty cool view and the sound was still great!  If the PJ view is half as good, might not be a bad option for those still looking for seats!

Only received St Paul 2 thus far but kudos to 10C: seniority based seating appears 💯 on point.
