I approve of both of these lists.  This is only the St Paul side of town.  There's a whole 'nother set of breweries in Minneapolis to see as well.  And don't forget about the distilleries...
Thanks, but for the good of all, we should probably keep to the lower abv stuff.  Our hotel is near Barrel Theory.  Any good?
Barrel Theory is decent, and Dark Horse next door has good food as well.

It'll be my first pearl jam concert and my first time in St Paul. How important is it to be in a hotel right by the stadium as opposed to staying somewhere 13 minutes away? The main thing I'm worried about is finding parking before for the show.

I am stoked to be back in my home state for these shows. Missed the '14 show but saw one of the two Tom Petty/PJ shows in '06. Maybe we'll get a Wild themed poster this time. That would be cool.

There should be plenty of parking near the Xcel Energy Center.  It's where the Wild play Hockey.  There's lots of parking garages downtown.

I'll be heading up to St. Paul from Iowa for both shows.  Reserved for night 1 and GA for night 2!

Will be my first visit to St. Paul.  Friend of mine recommended Mancini's for a good steakhouse.  Can others justify this? Any other recommendations are welcomed as well.

for what you're looking for i don't think you'd be diappointed at all by mancinis, and it's primary benefit is that it is less than a mile from the venue down west 7th st, right on the bus line to/from the venue. anything else that would be recommended like manny's or murray's is in minneapolis.

Mancini’s is great. It’s an old school Italian steakhouse that caters to the local police and union guys, it’s got that Goodfellas vibe to it. The grilled garlic bread is awesome. Steaks aren’t bad either.

If you’re game for a great cheap steak, head over to the Best Steakhouse on University Ave in the Frogtown Neighborhood. For around $20 you get a 16oz steak, baked potato with 3lbs of butter on it, Texas toast, and a garden salad in a wood bowl from the 70s. Similar ambience to Mancini’s just more rough and tumble clientele. Been a while since I was there, but they used to sport a nice Tony Soprano poster on the wall.

That’s Xcel just to the northeast of the 3 hotels.  The St Paul Hotel is top notch, and rumor has it that’s where the band stays.
  • YESSS!!! I am so excited to be at a local show with y’all!!! When I saw the St. Paul announcement for not one, but TWO nights, I immediately told my boss I had to take an extended lunch break for a personal matter.

And it was TRUE! I lost out on the last lottery and actually got tickets for the one in my own hometown! Love you all and can’t wait to be there with you!

If any out of towners would like, I can put together a list of place to eat/drink/visit while in St Paul. For Minneapolis, you’ll need to get that  info from those on the other side of the river.
