I think the excitement comes from the fact that they appear to like playing in ballparks, and when it comes to ballparks, Target Field is (1) widely regarded as one of the better ones, (2) Target Field already hosts a lot of concerts, and (3) the aforementioned “connection” with the team.

In sum, I think people get excited because it presents likely our best opportunity to get a show these days...

  • Yea those pics I posted were old. Think from around the time of Eddies solo tour. I know he’s friends w Moreau now and has been friends w Ron Coomer for a while...think there was a Strib article around that time w Vedder and Gardy, etc...he’s said the Cubbies are his team but that the Twins were is favorite team in the AL or something, a lot of connections....
I’m not all for Target Field show just thinking like mentioned above it might be our best shot to get them back here? I’ve always liked the shows at the X too.

I'm not necessarily excited about Target Field, just anywhere that I don't have to fly to. If that's the only driveable option, then I will not complain.

I agree if that is the local option then it is what it is. I would go, being that I could take a bus and sleep in my own bed.  I just don’t share the excitement of others in going to a concert in a sports stadium.

I fully back a show show at the X, Target Field not so much.

doing the san diego/la run again for spring.  historically those shows have been pretty good - san diego 06 and 13 are near the top of shows i've seen - so hoping for the best of tour there.
  • I've always had a blast at Target Field shows. The Eagles, Zac Brown and Kenny Chesney we great parties. But Paul McCartney was amazing there, way better than seeing him in an arena. There's something special about seeing PJ outdoors on a perfect summer night. But I love the intimacy of the arena shows too. Guess I can't make up my mind.

My 39th and 40th shows will be a fun road trip this spring. Driving to St. Louis, then heading for the mountains and the Denver show!

Maybe I’ve become too accustomed to seeing shows in smaller venues. In the past 3 years I’ve only been to one show in an arena setting, Foo Fighters at the X. Sat in the upper level. Felt like I was watching from the moon. Otherwise, all other shows have been in theaters or clubs.  Again, if it happens I’m down, but if it’s going to they better get on the stick and get it announced.
  • If they do come back to MN at some point, I need to find a way to get the guys to sign this.

  • Unfortunately communication is not a strong suit of the band and ten club; we'll find out our status somehow.
I see this sentiment on the boards and elsewhere often enough that I really am puzzled.

What bands communicates constantly with its fan base? What artist is letting you know they are working on stuff to the point that you are with them every step? I know some bands (like the Foo Fighters) will post stuff about "hey we are working on whatever" or "hey, a tour is coming probably".

But hasnt part of this whole Pearl Jam thing been about them having a mysterious facade to how they operate? Hasn't there always been a sense of they could do or announce anything and that excitement is part of their "thing'?

Maybe I'm way wrong. Maybe I'm in the slim minority. But, I don't except any band, much less Pearl Jam, to be updating me along the way with how things are going inside both the artistic and business goings-ons of their process.

I just get excited when they announce something
