    no way, i love the destructed look in the interior. i’m pretty positive on the palace all around save for the crowded floor on sold out nights. at least it’s angled/tiered so if you are squeezed in the back you’re above much of the crowd in front of you. if i know a show will sell out i’ll try and get upper seats instead. and, getting a beer in a timely manner has never been an issue, so that’s a plus, too.

    Exactly my thoughts.  Not sure what they're going for with the rubble/exposed wall look.  It looks trashy, imo.

    I think they went for a dive look when they could have made it a modern, sleek looking theatre with a nod to the old while still retaining a clean look

    It looks like they did the bare minimum to get the place operational.  It's not a bad place to see a show. Sounds is good. Rarely a long line for drinks or bathroom.  Easy to move around. It just looks like crap. St Paul needed a venue this size, sells out pretty consistently.

    We have needed a 2,000-5,000 seat mid range venue for a long time.  I'm glad we have places like the palace and armory.  

    Hopefully now roy wilkins can be retired as a concert venue (shudders).

    I haven’t seen a bad show at Palace.  Who cares what it looks like.  Great bands come there in a great town, run by the premier band-booking operation (First Ave) in in the Twin Cities.  What’s not to like?

    Just saw Roger Clyne will be at Fine Line in April. He's one of my favorites, but I don't think I've ever been there. The options are GA floor or balcony reserved. My wife obviously wants a chair, but I don't want to be too far away. And am I forced to sit the entire show if I am reserved balcony? I can't imagine the place is too big. One last question if balcony is recommended, side or back? Thanks!

    Do you think it will be a full house? I don' t know what the music style is (sorry) but if it's not going to be a full house, there should be some seating on the floor level towards the back.. just gotta get there early enough. It's would be much much cheaper.. but if there is no seating that night, then you're out of luck. If you go with balcony, I would suggest side/back or back. If you did the side, then you have that weird position of one of you in front of the other..

    Thank you for the info. They sold out 7th St last July, but that is obviously smaller, so hard to say if it will sell out. There were only 2 balcony tickets left (table 2) so I jumped on them. Hopefully the view is decent?

    As for who they are, if you listened to The Refreshments back in the '90s, then this is the lead singer and drummer from that band, just a different name.
