I saw Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at Basilica a couple of years ago and responded by buying all of the albums. It was a great show. Now it appears that she's dropped "the Nocturnals"...I am not sure how that will impact things.

Sure wish Buddy would've opened in MPLS since I can't make the zoo show... Oh well.

Anyone going to any of the Latin America tour? I'm trying to hit up Mexico if I find a GA A ticket.

If Their Satanic Majesties Request had been released in 2011 by a band like, say, Deerhunter, it would be an indie darling. Set it to be released just before the greatest run of albums by the greatest rock band, and it's considered crap (it mostly is).

    Who's wit me tomorrow night?????
    http://blog.thecurrent.org/2015/05/alabama-shakes-will-follow-up-halls-island-show-with-intimate-gig-at-paisley-park/

I'll be at the Stones wednesday, too.
Got a "Lucky Dip" ticket so don't know where ticket will be located until i get it from box office.
Wish me luck on getting a close spot and not a nosebleed seat.I hope the gods are smiling down upon me wednesday night!
Otherwise i've got a plan B to fall back on.I NEEDED to be sure of getting somewhat close to the stage,so i purchased a 16th row ticket in Section D on the floor from AXS.com .And it's only 6 chairs from the center walkway that leads to the small stage that juts out into the middle of the main floor.I wanted to be close to them for the what will more than likely be their last show ever, here.I don't know that for certain, but it's quite possible.
Should get some decent shots and video from that seat,i'm hoping.
I will use whatever ticket is the best one and if the Lucky Dip ticket is not close to the stage,i'll just give it away to someone who just wants to get in the building.

...getting excited...not sure there are too many people whose mere shopping at a bookstore would still make news in a major newspaper.

    Screw it. I'm really excited.

Yeah I like hockey but not nearly enough to sit outside in Minnesota and watch it!

Dress warmer than you think. I've done two outdoor games in my time. I think I'm still cold.

Great show. Nice set with a few surprises and some "secondary" hits that I didn't expect. The boys were a little rusty to start, and the TCF sound was a little muddy too (I thought), but by mid set, it was great. Glad the rain held out.

The lowlight of the evening came when we got back to our car at our perfect parking location, beating the masses, only to realize that I had left my rain coat in the stadium at our seats. I would have left it, had my keys not been in it. Ugh. Two hours later, we were home.

But ultimately, things turned out fine. The show was great. I think the strib review is pretty accurate. I had dozens of different friends attend and almost invariably, most agreed it was a good or great show, and that they had a good or great time.

As I've said in reference to PJ set list snobs in the past, if you thought the show sucked because they didn't this or that certain song, you're right. If you thought the show sucked because they're a group of guys in their 70s who have slowed down, depend on their backing band, and haven't released a new album in ten years, you're right. In other words, attitude is everything.

Live music is about perspective. Go in to a show with appropriate expectations and - most importantly - friends and loved ones, and you'll never be disappointed. Call it merchandising nostalgia, or call it rock history. The Rolling Stones are the greatest rock band ever and may end up with that title, as rock, as it was known for 40 years, dies. They've written some of the most iconic rock songs in history, and in doing so, rewrote that history. If you were lucky enough to be there last night, you caught some of that.

Hope everyone got home safe and had a good time.

    Cheers.

Had a great time and I thought they put on a decent show.
I will admit, I don't own any of their albums, know their music from what I've heard on radio, and probably recognized the first 4 songs, the last 5-6 songs and MAYBE 1 or 2 in between....but it didn't matter. I was out of the house for the night with my wife, seeing an iconic band for probably the only time in my life, and I did not leave disappointed. Sure, I wanted to hear Paint it Black or Beast of Burden, but I'm not pissed because I didn't. The one thing that was a downer for me was that Grace Potter was only given about 25-30 minutes and 5/6 songs....why even bother adding her to the bill (Although she did come out and KILL Gimme Shelter while nearly coming out of her dress/nightgown)?
I also found it funny that I understood Keith Richards better when he was actually singing than when he tried to talk

yeah, real enjoyable show last night, and especially that the weather held out and made it a nice evening to enjoy a show. like vant said, a little stutter at the beginning but once they were on they were in the groove the rest of the night. 'out of control' was a personal favorite highlight, as was gimme shelter. the 'jam' on 'midnight rambler' was another.

good to see jeremy and his now-wife. hope everyone else had as much fun as i did.

I have agree with everyone else; it was a great time last night. It was my 5th stones show. The wife thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought the sound in the venue was a little rough from time to time, but whatever. I just hope I still have that level of energy when I hit my 70s.

Good to see you Ryan. Hit me up whenever you spot the next hot PJ related vinyl in a store. Got keep that stuff out of Vant's hands.

Glad everyone enjoyed the big show. I was at Cage the Elephant at the Myth. And enjoyed myself.
