I'm sorry it turned out that way for you Ryan. Hopefully she's doing we'll.

As I said before, what a show. I had a different take, and the 4 others in our group, all in different locations, thought that, delay aside, this was a fantastic show. If anything, the energy improved after the delay.

I don't mean this insensitively, but it might be that the show was a bit "dampened" for you from the get-go?

All in all, Ed sounded great, cool set list, great venue.

Now...as for the other stuff, the heat, the merch trolls, the douchy non-fans, the scalpers...that stuff definitely could have ruined it all.

But the show itself? Worth every penny. Maybe a top 3 for me?

show was not dampened for me at all- if my review comes across that way then i've written it poorly.

it was a wonderful, memorable show and definitely the most unique show experience i've ever had (and i mean that in a good way). there's no place i'd have rather been. the lady's fainting issue has no bearing on my opinion of the show- like i said if someone was going to pass out during the first song, this was definitely the show to do it at. she recovered within a couple hours and we were out there at the restart and saw the rest of the show with no worries. i was definitely back in "fuck yeah, pearl jam!" mode when the show resumed.

the ONLY disappointment was the GA crowd being somewhat staid. i obviously can understand that we all had long, hot days and it was tough to muster energy at 12am. it all just made for a kind of weird vibe in the GA. that's all. it didn't ruin the show for me by any means, but it was a let down given how lucky we were to be in there in the first place.

i loved being in wrigley and thought the band were as great as they could be. no set complaints at all, and they played as sharp and focused as i can ever remember seeing them. they were served a sinking knuckler and hit it out of the park. unfortunately, the weather played havoc with the night's festivities and, in hindsight, kind of squashed the potential for this show to truly be one-for-the-ages. one of the most memorable shows ever? yes. one of their greatest of all time? i think it could have been, but nature had other plans. yet the band, fans, and venue folks made it as great as it possibly could be. and when you hear about phish and pitchfork being canceled, we're very lucky we got to witness what we did. we're a blessed group of fans.

Touche. Glad to hear she's doing well. :)

    WRIGLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple positive take aways for me:

Loved Wrigley as a venue. I don't know if any other ball park in America would have the same feel as Wrigley for a Pearl Jam show. Sure, Target Field is new and awesome. But, I have to give it up for Wrigley and agree with Eddie. It is a special place. The brick concourse. The green bleachers. The very little advertising. It was awesome.

The rain delay was fitting for the venue. Some one up stairs is winking for that one.

The setlist was near perfect for me. Could've done without Black at the end but I was happy with the flow of the show.

Balled my eyes out during Come Back.

Evenflow was the best I've seen. I couldn't believe how tight Mike sounded on that solo.

Corduroy was cool with the new little change in the middle.

Chloe-Dancer/ Crown of Thorns by Motherlovebone is my favorite song. Out of any song. For many reasons. I never thought I'd hear it live the way MLB has it on the album. But, holy shit, PJ nailed it. It was spot on and I was in heaven.

I also got to share this trip with some of my best friends and my lady. It was epic and wonderful. I don't think I will ever see a show that great or unique regardless who the band is!
    I mean, come on.

This counts as two shows, yes? Wrigley 1 and Wrigley 2?

Oh. I also thought it was a bit fitting there was one of those Pearl Jam Wrigley bus stop posters right outside of my hotel.

Fitting that the first thing I saw when I walked out of the hotel to walk to Wrigley was that poster. :)

    Just some quick comments :)

First off, whoa. Awesome show. Yes, it was a long, grueling affair, but in hindsight the weather we had to endure made it just a bit more memorable. Half the fun of the weekend was having great conversation with strangers, and generally everyone we interacted with over the weekend was positive, friendly, and excited!

To Ryan's point about the GA section - I sat right behind GA, and I agree completely. It was a totally weird vibe. I kept thinking "c'mon people, rock out!!" but there just wasn't much movement, bouncing, arm raising, etc. Yes, at 12am we all were a bit tired from a long day, but da pit just wasn't as energetic as I expected.

That being said, I ignored it and rocked out HARD! The sound from my seat was the best ive heard at a PJ show, the energy that Eddie and the boys brought was unreal. You could just hear it in Ed's voice that the show meant a lot to him. I was goin nuts during All Night, Setting Forth, Faithfull.. Admittedly teared up during Comeback and when Ernie was on stage... Low Light, Leatherman, PT, Hold On, Bugs, Mother, ahhh!!! Amazing set, and I still cringe when I see SLEIGHT OF HAND, MOTH, and Otherside were on the original setlist.

Final assessment: Epic show, which had the potential to be super-mega-out-of-this-world Epic. I loved every minute, amazing weekend.

thanks. once she got water, food, and cooled down everything was good. she said she'd never fainted before, and we handled four days of heat at bonnaroo just fine a few weeks ago, so hopefully it was just one of those unfortunate occurrences. i felt for her- once she got her bearings she was upset that she "ruined" the show, and i had to reassure her a few times that she should not feel bad at all. then the delay was announced and i really think that helped her settle down. on the plus side, we got to wait out the majority of the storm in an air conditioned first aid room, so we were definitely ready to get back out there when the time came. so, really, just like the show itself, it all worked out as well as it possibly could have.

Posted this as part of my fanview, but wanted to post it here to. I'll say it again, thank you, thank you, thank you, to those that helped me out! I don't know why you chose me, but I am happy you did!
It was great to meet some of you, even if it was briefly, sorry we didn't get to hang out more. Hopefully we'll have a gathering sometime and have proper introductions!

I hope everyone enjoyed the show!
First off, a huge THANK-YOU to the three people that hooked me up with tickets. Words can not express my gratitude. I was resigned to the fact that I would be paying $500 a ticket, and than BAM! - phone call and tickets are available for me (thanks for not selling them to the scalpers!)! Then a few hours later I'm contacted from two other members that have extra tickets. Now all my friends can go! One was actually about to buy on SH, but forgot his password when he got the call (his first show btw)! So, thank you, thank you, thank you! My friends were amazed at what transpired (You don't even know these people and they gave you tickets? For face value? When they know they could sell them for more? You don't even know these people?!?) I know not everyone was as lucky as me with getting tickets, and that fact is not lost on me. One day I hope I can return the favor.

....the local fans are so positive all the time, I don't see why not.....

i think we have a pretty good, grounded group here.

Yes....the core of the group is positive and remain ever hopeful. Sometimes the negative posts find there way on here. But, I suppose that's the reason for the internet.

Either way, when they don't play here, just gives me (us) an excuse to see a new city! Which I love!

But, seeing a show and then sleeping in my own bed would be a nice change of pace. ;)

My wife would second that thought! I've been on the road quite a bit the last 3 years :D

Tell me about it. I have slept really hard each night and I'm pounding caffeine, anything to stay awake.

Anyone get an extra pack of cards? The sports collector in me is really regretting not at least trying to get one. They look sweet!
