    Grad party for my sis bump!

    I spent a chunk of my graduation money on buying all of Pearl Jam's album. I had previously illegally downloaded most of them. ;)

    What a great weekend. Stones show...unreal. The Star Tribune review of it is fairly accurate, in that, there were a few songs that it was clear they hadn't rehearsed. And yes, Keith Richards was behind on a few solos and took him a bit to get warmed up.

    But that band is still, after 50 years, the greatest rock band ever. Sorry Beatles, Led Zeppelin, PJ...the Rolling f-ing Stones. Their energy, their showmanship, their groove, their writing. What a show. Worth every penny. Worth the 6.5 hour drive.

    So very thrilled that I can now say, "I saw the Rolling Stones."


    On a related Wrigley-PJ note, our reconnaissance mission was fruitful. First, Wicker Park. Let's hang there. The Emporium in particular. Lots of good food. Second, I-90 is under construction from now until 2016! So, for approximately 35 miles (it's like Belvidere to Schaumburg or so), it is two (very tight) lanes each way. Plan accordingly. If you're heading into Chicago on Friday for the show, do NOT plan on leaving MN any later than 7-8am and making it through rush hour. With construction, it was a nightmare. We left MN Friday morning at 830am, and thankfully, our hotel required us to get off I-90 anyway, but if we had left any later than that and been required to stay on I90, I think we'd have been cutting it for a 7pm show.

    So, in other words, plan on getting into Chicago as early as possible on Friday. With normal rush hour, it's pretty tight for a while anyway. With construction for 35 miles (45 MPH limit the whole way too) before you even get to rush hour, you'll need even more time. You don't want to be sweating it out in traffic while PJ opens up at Wrigley.

    Pretty certain I've decided to sell a piece of Pearl Jam memorablia. It's pretty rare and a lot of money. I'm 80% sure I want to sell it.

    That's probably fine. I think it's starting to be more on us than anything. Once the band announced Wrigley, we started chomping at the bit and that really was realistic. Once we knew Matt's schedule with Soundgarden in Europe, it should have been clear that shows wouldn't be until October, in which case, 3 months advance notice or so is pretty standard for their last 3-4 tours. It's kind of a damned-if-you, damned-if-you-don't thing: we want 10c to announce things and give us information, and when they do, we're upset. But if they don't announce anything, this place explodes.

    I too am getting very antsy, but now that I think about it, Wrigley's a month away, and a 3-month lead time is pretty reasonable.
