It's painful to see the pictures of the setlists when they have the tuning marked ... you can see how many songs they have to tune down in order for Ed to sing them ... not that i'm complaining ;)

i don't even notice that when i listen to them live.

Yes and no. One could also argue that this is our extension of the Backspacer tour, and they should give the album wider coverage.

but not in place of the "hits", is the point here. if they're only going to allot 2-3 backspacer songs a show in an area they haven't toured, guess which ones they'll probably be...

Yes, and it kinda sucks, IMHO. I really like all three of these hits, too, that's not the issue. I realize they aren't going to play eight Backspacer songs a night anymore, nor would that necessarily be a great thing. Take this encore, for instance. They could have plunked Force of Nature in there in place of Daughter, which they just played last show. Minor tweak. Not saying the band sucks. Just like the new material. For what its worth, they shut me up about Avocado over the past two nights.

Yeah I would agree... take away Wash and U for me and its nothing crazy. But there are a lot of songs on here I know a lot of people really love, so I think the personal preference thing plays huge in these shows now that they are so varied.

  • OK. Not fearing my exposed ignorance, what is this "tag" thing I keep seeing? :?

It's when they "sample" another song within their own song.

E.g., Near the end of Daughter, they may sample a bit of Neil Young's Rockin' in the Free World... or in tonight's case, Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall.
