Ed mentioned that it's his daughter Harper's birthday (3rd?) into Just Breathe.
This folks, is called a juxtiposition of affect ... Aw, cute. ... Fuck, Just Breathe again.
Haha...
I was really hoping since its a non-album tour they would take Fixer, Just Breathe and Unthought Known off 'everyday' status. They're all fine songs, but backspacer could have some other songs filling those slots just fine.
family first??? you are new to this pearl jam game arent you? hahahah, Im just buggin you...see you at the van pre party......
my buddy from calgary has been to 7 pj shows with me, tonight he took his wife to edmonton for her first show and his first without me, they got an amazing poster and a kick ass show to commemorate it seems....just hope mark arm stays of the stage at the end....oh snap.
I know, these people critters keep cramping my Pearl Jam style. My wife is coming to Van too.

Ditto. Why the heck haven't they played Gonna See My Friend yet?

Seriously ... it's the only Backspacer song i haven't heard yet ... i love the energy

I dont think they've played the following B/S songs this tour:
Gonna See My Friend
Force of Nature
Supersonic
Speed of Sound (not a problem they haven't played it!)
I could be wrong, but I dont think they have. I'd take any of the top 3 over the Fixer/JB/UK every night. I might be too spoiled though!

save for calgary and toronto, canada has never seen the band play any of backspacer, so playing the "hits" seems a good idea, yeah?

That's the same list I have. I'd be cool to ask Ed about this. Does he just forget, are they tired of certain songs (seems unlikely, given the massive repetition of Fixer, Breathe, and Unthought)?

Yes and no. One could also argue that this is our extension of the Backspacer tour, and they should give the album wider coverage.

I was pleasantly surprised by Speed Of Sound and Supersonic live ... can't stand the album versions of either ... which is the opposite of Force of Nature, as i love the album version but think it never sounds good live

I agree, they nailed Speed of Sound. Not my favorite tune on the record, a lot better live.

It's tuned down so it comes off a little flat live, but so are Got Some, Fixer, Gonna See My Friend as well FWIW.

It's painful to see the pictures of the setlists when they have the tuning marked ... you can see how many songs they have to tune down in order for Ed to sing them ... not that i'm complaining
