Nightswimming into Find The River - you don't get any better than that, just sublime.

Since you asked for one and it annoys me when people take liberties with that, I'll say Country Feedback.

On a side note though, you know how bands usually stack their albums pretty top-heavy? Well I think Automatic for the People has the greatest trio of closing songs on any album ever.

Holy shit. There are so many. Exhuming McCarthy, These Days, Country Feedback, Find the River, So Fast So Numb, Bad Day and Walk Unafraid.

I even love the latter albums. Leaving New York is pure beauty, Blue is fantastic , Ascent of Man soars and I'll Take the Rain is classic.

Many of my favs have been listed already. So, because of its impact on me...

    The Sweetness Follows

IMO the stretch of Everybody Hurts-New Orleans Instrumental-Sweetness Follows is about as gorgeous as it gets.
    I am mine.

    Hey now, little speedyhead,
The read on the speedometer says
You have to go to task in the city
Where people drown and people serve
Don't be shy. Your just dessert
Is only just light years to go

Me, my thoughts are flower strewn
    Ocean storm, bayberry moon
I have got to leave to find my way
    Watch the road and memorize
This life that pass before my eyes
    Nothing is going my way

The ocean is the river's goal,
A need to leave the water knows
We're closer now than light years to go

I have got to find the river,
    Bergamot and vetiver
Run through my head and fall away
    Leave the road and memorize
This life that pass before my eyes
    Nothing is going my way

There's no one left to take the lead,
But I tell you and you can see
We're closer now than light years to go
Pick up here and chase the ride
The river empties to the tide
    Fall into the ocean

The river to the ocean goes,
    A fortune for the undertow
None of this is going my way
There is nothing left to throw
    Of ginger, lemon, indigo,
Coriander stem and rows of hay
    Strength and courage overrides
    The privileged and weary eyes
    Of river poet search naivete
Pick up here and chase the ride
The river empties to the tide
All of this is coming your way
"FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam0925

I've always loved Maps and Legends, Let Me In, She Just Wants To Be, Disappear, and now Uberlin... I've bumped into Michael a few times, and was always amazed by how nice and how happy he always seemed... So sad I missed the chance to see them live, I've been dying for them to finally tour again :-(

oooh this is tough- have one for each day of week...REM has always been a must listen to the album as a whole band.

once had a boyfriend who I played "good advices" and "wendell gee" for because I was listening to these two in particular as they had resonated within and moved me (Fables) ... he looked at me and said "uh, that was depressing" ....Really ?!

beautiful... If the wind were colors and if the air could speak then whistle as the wind blows...
got a car...got some gas...oh let's get out of here-get out of here fast...
I hope you get this message but your not home...I will be there in just a minute or so...
I want to go but I want to go with you.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. -MT

I've had enough, said enough, felt enough. I'm fine, still in it.

Yep, have to agree with this. Texarcana was even my user name back on the synergy PJ board way back when.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.
