went passed it the other day on route to guns n roses gig, still in the middle of being built, but looks like it'll be impressive.

The Hydro has the potential to be a great venue. Anything is better than the soulless hanger that is the SECC.A 10c show only at the Barrowlands would be the ultimate. Then afterwards it would be as well knocked down as no one else would match PJ there.

After a couple of great days in Edinburgh I can't help thinking how amazing a PJ show at the castle would be. We were coming down Princes Street tonight and there was something quite loud coming from up there. I was trying to decipher the notes to see what it was but all that I could think of was Corduroy. If you've ever visited it you'll know how amazing it would be up there rain or shine. This will never happen but playing the scenario through in my head is pretty good. I may have to come up with a bribe....

In case you didn't know Glasgow has an amazing 13000 capacity arena opening up in a few months that will be one of the top venues on this planet or any other... ;) So, see you next summer then? :D

So another period of anticipation is upon us. Everyone waiting to see where the next run of shows will be, how many we can afford to go to if any, whether they will land right on our own doorsteps? Can they justify extending the promotion of LB into another year or is there a surprise album in the making? Doubt the latter. I'll happily accept whatever comes I guess but one thing is certain. It is over 15 years since they played Glasgow on the Binaural UK tour, a show which came a full 8 years after their only other Scottish date. The Scandinavian countries had to wait 12 years but then got visited for two consecutive tours in 2012 and 2014. No doubt Berlin and Amsterdam will be included again and somewhere in England. Come and give us a night to remember in the 9300 capacity grounds of Edinburgh Castle and we will say nothing more about it. (Or just a show at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow.)

It is all appreciated my good man. Wish I could make it down to your PJ Con events but coming from Orkney is either very expensive or very time consuming. I think the next time they tour Dublin or Belfast will probably get the nod over Scotland. I think it would be great for a change if they played Scotland obviously but also somewhere different again in England like they did with Leeds last year. Ed obviously loves John Lennon and The Beatles so Liverpool could be a great city for a show and good for fans from Wales and the west too.

Ok, you came, you saw, you conquered but you didn't visit Scotland. Another year passes. Eighteen barren years will become 19 and probably 20 too but we don't go away us Scots. We'll be here waiting under our tartan bunnets, grinding down shortbread with a grimacing smile and washing it down with an abrasive malt whisky, thinking if only. Almost everyone else makes it over the border! What have you got to lose goddammit!!! Gah!!!! Och!!!!

Since this thread started,I have traveled to see Pearl Jam, as have thousands of people to see them.  I have had a total blast, met some great people from around the world , seen some amazing shows. Truth be told, for me at a PJ gig when the lights go down there is no other place I would want to be at that time. For the next 2/3+ life stops and I only feel joy, total unadulterated joy. There aren’t many things or times in your life that give you that and I hope you all get to feel this. Weather it’s through PJ or something else. Make the most of what you have. To see your favourite band in your own country, that has got to be up there. Hopefully I will get to see it once more. So common PJ  the UK is more than just London and has 3 borders, cross any one and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Here’s looking forward to 2019.

But in my defence, I have drunk a lot of cider and a few brandy’s this evening in a wee village on the west coast of Scotland, great time had by all

They havent been to Wales since that tour either. Face it, the days of extensive tours are over. We have to travel to them rather than they come to us.
