No more Ledbetter encore
Yellow Ledbetter should be incorporated into the rest of the set list, not just the encore. I understand why they do this but I think they have made there point by now. It's just...Keep the entire show some what of a surprise..

ONLY TO COME OUT AND FINISH WITH "DON"T BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS"
I can't imagine that they don't recognize the mass exodus when the chords of that song kick in.
It would something different. Nothing wrong with a little change.
ditto.

I hear you there! I'd prefer some other cover...not sure what exactly. But I think something can definitely be found. Something like Man on the Moon, The Waiting, or some other well known rock song would be sweet!
I still want Ledbetter to close the show...it's just the perfect closer IMO.
Agreed...but I'd like to see Fuckin' Up, followed by YL. It's just the perfect closing song.

I. LOVE. YIELD.
its not fucking fair!
yeah i wasn't saying kill YL, just switch out fuckin' up for RITFW. i love YL as the closer. I work at lowes and one night when we were closing me and a coworker grabbed a cd player/battery charger off the shelf and played it overhead. also my fiance agreed that we should play YL as the last song at our wedding reception.

And seriously if I do leave and they play something else after YL it would be RITFW, another song I can't take anymore.

More to Come....
I've brought that up before too. So many of their closers would make great openers and vice-versa. Open with RITFW, close with Wash or Oceans. Play YL to end the first set and then close with Release. I mean, imagine!
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
And if the stars allign they will . . . MSG 2, my birthday
are you serious? YL is mostly improved anyway....
I think that would be great. It is a great closing song but this is a nice tour length to really mix it up and add some freshness. It would certainly shake up the die hards in front!!!

Perhaps Alive or Black....
but i agree... i wish they would start to play it less and less. i would love to see them close out a show with an intense version of RVM or blood.

The first five or six shows I ever went to, that's all my friends and I talked about: "Is this the show where we FINALLY get to see Ledbetter?" It wasn't played that often, usually only on nights where the band was feeling especially generous. We never got to see it.
Finally got it at the last show I saw on the 2000 tour.
Best version was in San Antonio on the '03 tour ... one of the first times Ed "changed" all the lyrics to be obviously about the impending war in Iraq. And it was beautiful. I just stood there with goosebumps.
Then, they closed with Baba, which is a great second encore song. You've got the lights up, the entire stadium singing that middle bridge part a capella --- it's one of the best moments of my life.
I hope I never get to the point in my Pearl Jam touring career where that feeling becomes boring. If I do, it's time to hang up my touring shoes.
