is there a FAQ or must know for newbies to not only Bridge School but Shoreline?
like, what's the best way to get there? ... is there public transit? ... can you bring food in? ... when does the show usually end? ...
Get preferred parking if you can. Not much for public transportation, even taking a cab from a hotel isn't very doable because of the long line of cars to get to the venue. At least with preferred parking you can drive right out, instead of waiting for an hour in stand-still traffic. Yes, you can bring food in (and I'd recommend it because it's a long show show and the food there is terrible and expensive). It usually runs pretty late. 11-12 on the first night, 9-10 on the second.
last year was my first and its incredible. pj or EV appearance is just gravy on an awesome day. people there are great, etc. its a wonderful cause and just seeing neil come out to start each day is worth the trip. last year the band did neils song walk w me both nights and it was incredible. they did santa cruz, other side, patti smiths dancing barefoot, etc. did black, daughter, betterman. its all acoustic. think about seeing and hearing those songs live acoustic. how many pj fans can say theyve seen unthought known acoustic? just the ones that were at bridge school last year. and you know this year eddie will collaborate w neil, the foos, or perhaps beck? its a completely awesome experience rain or shine. i realize its "just" ed this year but that to me is exciting in that he'll do some great covers, into the wild stuff, and some great pj stuff. foo fighters acoustic??? COME ON people. im there!!!!!

thanks ... can i still get preferred parking now?
Not sure. If you already bought your tickets, check with ticketmaster. You might be able to add it on.
I logged in to the Ticketmaster well before 10 am and got right on it...after about 20 minutes I ended up with 4 lawn tickets. After standing for about 12 hours to get good "seats" in the General Standing area for the recent U2 concert in Oakland, I vowed to never do that again (too old)... I couldn't help myself. I'm going to see Ed, my husband, Tony Bennett!
We got seats for both days, had 3 laptops going at the same time. It wasn't easy but I absolutely didn't want lawn after last years rain. We didn't have lawn last year and felt so fortunate.
It's only rained twice in 24 years of Bridge. Chances are slim that it will rain again this year.
That being said, if anybody got seats they want to sell to me, I need about 4 more. I managed to get 4 this morning.
I'm calling bullshit. It is always worth going but I can remember it raining more than 2 times since '99 maybe not on a sunday as I've only been to 2 Sunday's but it has rained more thN twice in that span. I am extremely excited about going again this year. But anybody going just for Ed be prepared for him to play for 15 - 20 minutes and then be done. He will be one of the opening sets.
I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.

I stand corrected. The garlic fries are, indeed, awesome.
What row? I got row G but it says Warning: Obstructed View [Behind Mixer]. Anyone know if these will be ok or not?
Row T
We got Row L in Sec. 202 for Sunday, with the same message about the obstructed view. If I remember correctly, we were pretty close to there last year and had no problem with seeing the stage. We will be on the lawn for Saturday.

Tried to get tickets at 10 but site wouldn't let me in. After about 25 minutes I could only get lawn. Gonna have to try stub hub or something. Even without tickets I'm gonna go.
Let Me Live So When It's Time To Die Even The Reaper Cries
I tried to get tix for this but couldn't even get TM page to load from my slow ass work comp.
Enjoy all you lucky ones, the lineup looks like you're in for a good time.
I'm shocked at that amount of people who couldn't handle the rain.
I went both days last year -- Saturday seats, Sunday lawn -- and had a fucking blast. Sunday on the lawn was amazing. Threw down a tarp, smoked some joints, made some friends, and sang and danced in the mud and rain. It was perfect.
Got Saturday lawn and Sunday reserved seats this year. No matter what happens, it's going to be beautiful.

Were you there last year? I could have sworn the guy who announces the bands between sets commented on how it was only the second time the show had ever been rained upon. I have only been to four years, so I wasn't speaking from experience -- just from what he had mentioned.

Rained on me in 2000 then again in 2004 and then both days last year.

Hey Liz! Thanks for the endorsement! (I have a much better chance of riding with a Giants fan versus a no-good Dodgers fan up here too)
You coming up this way for the shows?
Not sure. If you already bought your tickets, check with ticketmaster. You might be able to add it on.
thank you ... greatly appreciated ...
According to this thread
Ed will play 40-45
Then someone said 30 minutes
Now we are down to 15-20
Whatever it will be, that fine with me. It's about the cause
But 15-20 seems crazy short
I stand corrected. The garlic fries are, indeed, awesome.
Here's some great information.

It is an expensive weekend though, especially if you come from the east coast.
