  • I will try and keep my review of the Hamilton show brief....

    - The crowd sucked. I sat in 10C seats on Stone's side and the majority of people were standing there like a lump of coal. As a Hamiltonian who saw my 20th show last night, I want to apologize on behalf of my city. Toronto, your crowd made us look like losers.

    - Ed drank too much tonight. He was in a great mood, but sounded better in Toronto.
    - Boom absolutely sucked tonight... which is rare because he is usually on fire. Half the time he wasn't even on stage and during crazy mary his solo was the worst I have ever heard. Thankfully Mike was teasing him and trying his hardest to get Boom going.

    - Stone, Jeff and Mike were awesome. Matt didn't blow me away tonight, but he was still very good.

    - The beer lines were ridiculous... so bad that I didn't even drink during the show. HECFI, you guys continue to suck at organizing anything.

    - I enjoyed the set and loved seeing Immortality, Nothingman and Brain of J!

    - To anyone who disagrees with me about the crowd being lame, all you need to do was look around during "Alive" and half the people had no clue about the fist pumping. Too many overnight fans.

    - All in all, this show comes nowhere close to Hamilton 2005. Mark my words, PJ will never play in Hamilton again. Never.

    - A huge Thank you to the Toronto and Wisconsin crowds, you guys were awesome. Again, to PJ, Management and the road crew, I apologize for Hamilton being lame tonight.

Just watched an hour of videos on youtube from last night and it looked like it was an amazing show. The crowd sounded pretty damn good to me and the band sounds very tight. Maybe some people should consider taking a bit of a break from PJ when they find themselves getting tired of certain songs or the PJ concert experience in general. Not trying to rip on anyone. Just saying.

Just three more sleeps until I get my first show of the tour! Hope they save some for us out West!
E agora? Faz xixi na mão e deita fora!

I know opinions can’t be wrong, but yours is!

    1. Please don’t speak for Hamiltonians, ever. 2. Ed can drink as much as he wants, he’s funny when he gets tipsy. 3. Boom has never sucked at anything. He could take Chuck Norris in a fist fight if he wanted. 4. Matt blows everyone away whenever he gets behind a kit. 5. The beer lines were very long, and my heart is breaking that you didn’t get to have a beer during the show. 6. If you just “enjoyed” the set, you weren’t listening properly. 7. I disagree with you about the crowd, and I don’t “fist pump”. 8. This show was slightly better than 05, and that was my previous number 2. 9. Like I said before, please don’t speak for Hamiltonians, ever.

    Thank You.

A lot has been said already.
All I can say is for me, Eddie had a perfect night. He was awesome start to finish. His voice was INCREDIBLE, he was having a lot of fun, crazy jumps and hanging off the mike stand, smashing the mic stand into the stage, no forgotten lyrics, great stories- i have seen the band enough to know that he was right on his game from start to finish. In addition he drank lots of wine - later in the show - so that was fun - no headers into the monitors though like last Hamilton show.
Anyone who says the crowd was lame is certainly speaking from a very limited perspective based on where they were sitting because the place was on fire. Maybe not a lot of wild dancing in the stands (partly because the seating was tight and there wasnt much room) but the voices of Hamilton came out in full force and it was amazing. Just because there is no mosh pit and crowd surfing doesnt mean the crowd wasnt into it.
I was very very impressed with this show. Toronto night one was superb but this show was an awesome rock show in an intimate venue.
When you get the boot, listen to Eddie in Push me Pull me. You will be blown into the stratosphere. its a strange song to pick but he sang it so intensely I couldnt believe my ears. Taken to another level on many occasions in Hamilton. I could go on and on.
That's it though- three great shows and now I have to walk back down the mountain after reaching the summit, having a great view, meditating for a bit, soaking up the sun, and touching the sky.

***Disclaimer: I know not everyone will agree with my opinions, and that's alright with me. That's the point of your own personal fanview. :D ***

That whole day, pre-party and all, was more than I hoped for. I have been following the band for 20 years and this was my very first show, ever. It was amazing to be in a place where almost everyone there felt the same as I do about Pearl Jam. This was my dream set list. Yes, every single song. Why? Simply because Pearl Jam was playing.

Given to Fly was the perfect song to open, in my opinion, as it represents where I am in my life now. As they played on, I was taken through a journey of my last 20 years. Oh, what an incredible two decades I have had! At times, I would look around the whole stadium soaking it in, wondering what those songs meant for each of those people. Did they have the same meaning as they do for me? Which moments where each of those songs tied to, for them? I find it incredible how a band can connect us that way.

I am sure many of you have heard "PJ saved my life". But, they really did save mine. It was 20 years ago this very month, that I was planning on "not sticking around". Sitting in my room, at 15, listening to the radio...waiting for the right moment...then Jeremy came on. That was it. Jeremy gave me a voice, which gave me the strength to pull through. So, for the last 20 years since then, whenever I have needed it, a Pearl Jam song finds it way to me, and helps me push through.

This moment in time has been burned into my soul, just like my wedding day and the birth of my child. I will relish it forever.

Thank you, Pearl Jam. JUST FOR BEING. That's been more than enough for me.

  • I am just thankful they are still a band who continue to create meaningful music and still put on killer fucking shows after 20 years! I said to my buddy the other day, thank God we didn't choose Nirvana as our band way back when.
I sat 5th row center with a friend who i would call a casual fan, he has never sat that close at any concert. He was taken back by how pj feeds off its fans building their setlist setting it up for the ultamite climax. When Ed decided to climb into the crowd during Alive, he was only feet away from us sending the crowd into a God damn frenzy. After the show my buddy said to me "dude i'm in, i will follow you to any pearl jam show on the planet."
While i agree we don't have to love everything the band does, the one thing i can't stand on this board
is the consant fucking complaining some of you people do." I heard even flow, Alive and Ledbetter 8 times already on this tour, Eddie was boring, he sounded tired."
Eight times? For real, you have seen the band 8 times on this tour and are complaining? Eight completley different setlist and you are complaining?
I saw Push me pull me, U, kick out the jams, Crown of Thorns, Rats etc.. on this tour. If Eddie wants to fucking sing Even Flow so he can have a smoke , watch the crowd and admire Mccready as he go nuts on the solo i say go right the fuck ahead brother you already made my night!

The usher next to us on the floor said that the beer lines were intentional to minimize alcohol intake.

Alive and Yellow Ledbetter finished a show that left vets and 1st timers picking their jaws up off the floor. Eddie walked into the crowd to sing Alive, holding one fans hand for what seemed like the entire song. During YL he smashed a tambourine over his head and wore it like a necklace, his smile matching the one everyone on the band was showing off all evening. Instruments were put down and many high fives exchanged long before Mike finished soloing. Incredible setlist, incredible performance. A true highlight of my 10 year career as a concertgoer

AWESOME REVIEW!!! and definitely an amazing show!!!! I cried tears of joy and was shaking so badly during yellow ledbetter.... just overwhelmed with happiness... what an amazing band!!!

Once again- awesome seats thanks 10C!

Awesome show- the whole band kicked ass!

The wife and I took our close friends to their 1st PJ show- they were blown away. Couldnt stop talking about it the whole time on the ride back.

One more thing... I was totally impressed with Stone and Matt last night. As I am usually to the left last night i was on the right, seating wise, and I have never seen Stone and Matt up close- like Ed, Mike, and Jeff at previous shows. Simply amazing!

You guys bring it everytime and like everyone else in this post I am truely thankful for the everything you have done over the last 20.
