  • September 19, 2005 at the ACC in Toronto... Eddie played an acoustic version of Porch as a pre-set.

During RITFW, a man in a cowboy hat appeared on stage to join the band. From my vantage point it looked like good 'ol Uncle Neil. Much to my disappointment it was Bono. Nonetheless, a magical night!

Seats in Row 8 from 10C. Crowd was fantastic. May have been a "Hello Cleveland!" moment, but Ed commented several times about how good the crowd was and how much that surprised him. They had played Chicago the night before, and Ed said that the whole tour he'd been thinking Chicago, Chicago, Chicago, and figured Mpls the next night might have been a let down. But it wasn't - "You made your mark." Stone's guitar broke at the beginning of ATY. The crowed roared for about 5 mins.

Set list was outstanding. After the show, the local radio station claimed that people were mad that they didn't play Jeremy.

Alpine Valley 2011 - Release began it all for me :D

Actually I was already addicted, but finally getting to see them live was brilliant!
  • 6-16-2003, St Paul, MN. Would have been much sooner if the band came around Minnesota more often. Now I've come to understand sometimes I have to go to them

Auckland 95. Shit venue (it was in a tent). Great show, first time I realized Dave A was no longer around. Two split enz songs with the Finn brothers and oceans which was dedicated to the one Ed almost drowned in earlier in the day. Blood from that show (and the night before) feature in PJ20 movie and the soundtrack.
Im not supersticious, Im just a littlesticious.

A friend I worked with won tix on the radio, couldn't go, sold them to me for $15 each, 10th row dead center (now I have to think it sucks for the 10club members at that time that I had such good seats). I wasn't a "fan" of PJ then but was really getting into more rock style music so I went to the show. I've been hooked ever since. Immediately joined 10club and here I am, still in love with the band and the music. :D

08/14/93 - Gimli Motorsport Park: Gimli, Manitoba (Sunfest '93)

set: Even Flow, Why Go, Deep, Jeremy, Animal, Glorified G, Daughter/(Gimme Shelter), Go, State of Love and Trust, Garden, Blood, Alive, Black, Once, Porch, Indifference, Sonic Reducer, Rockin' in the Free World, Baba O'Riley

notes: This show is frequently referred to as "Mudfest" due to a downpour prior to the concert. One of the reasons that this show is so incredible is that PJ was jumping out of their collective skins to be able to cut loose for more than 90 minutes. Currently touring with Neil Young, they were confined to an early 45 minute set. They were offered this slot (and are the only non-Canadian band ever to play this large festival) and it became their night. Despite Ed's drinking, PJ is very high energy and intense.

I was 17 at this show, hopped a ride to Gimli with a guy i had never met before, LOL, tried to sit up on his shoulders during State, guess I was in a camera guy's way so he just pushed me off into the crowd - was a fantastic night that I didn't get to repeat until they came to Edmonton in '05  But any chance is better than nothing at all -- I hope they make it back to Canada at least one more time before they decide to call it quits :)
