Just announced today that Guns N Roses will be playing the Allstate Arena in Chicago November 15th, as well as some other US dates. Despite all of Axl's insanity, GnR is still probably in my top 3 favorite bands (GnR, PJ, Springsteen).
Now let's see if any good seats escape the clutches of TicketBastard!

MORE Axel and friends.....they will be playing up the street here in South Florida at Cruzan Ampitheatre and I've been invited to go. Not sure if I will.....I've seen them back in the day several times with their full crew and wasn't all that impressed.
They still though had one of rock's GREATEST debut album and I don't particularly like them.

but for this show i was slightly sceptical, due to axls voice, and would the new band stand up against the old.
well despit axl turning up late and the band not coming on stage until i think was after 10pm, they still played a 2-1/2 hours set, axl's voice sounded good, ands the band were actually amazing. so i was pleasently surprised.
Definitely Axl and Friends at this point!
I saw them on tour in 2002 and the show kicked ass. Played for about 2 and a half hours also, Axl still sounded great, and fantastic energy throughout the show.
Just picked up tickets through the pre-sale! Feeling good!

Congrats on the tix. I'd say you should enjoy this one even more than 02. I think the band improved without Buckethead (just not the right sound for the old songs) plus Axl himself sounds better.
Yeah, It's pretty much Axl's solo band by now. They still throw a good show, though. Hopefully they'll make room for a new song or two this tour. + they need to play Estranged!!

he coudn't sing!!! his voice was awful.. he says 3 words and then let the crowd sing, after that the crowd says enough and started throwing things at him, i'm not very proud of that because i hate when people do that. but he was really a deception. sorry
Chinese Democracy proved that we should, so.. yeah.

This. Guns 'n Roses don't exist anymore, and haven't for many, many years. To call it GNR without Slash, Izzy or Duff is just laughable.
Love it!

I saw GnR in Dec 2006 in L.A. They show was ok, but in order to give Axl time to rest, each band member got a solo slot during the show. One of the members sang "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch". It seemed like a total time killer. Do we really need to see their bass player do a solo?
I had a couple friends who went last night and loved it. I saw them Sunday night in Mpls and thought Axl sounded great, 3 hours and he sounded awesome for all of it.
Axl's voice sounded great, and his energy level was fantastic. He was all over the stage, and he even looked like he was having fun!
Setlist was the standard for the tour (really makes you appreciate the effort Eddie and the boys put into coming up with different setlists every night) but they played almost all the songs I wanted to hear, and even mixed in a few nifty AC/DC covers!
My only complaints would be that the acoustics at the Allstate Arena were poor (at least where we were sitting) and they stopped selling beer 15 minutes into GnR's set (11pm).
All and all a great time. Even used some pyrotechnics!

I saw that they were still on sale, tickets are a bit expensive still. I would like to go if I had the extra bread and understand it's really just Axl at this point. But I liked the last record, would have been so much better if he would just call it a solo record perhaps.
Just having him show up and actually do the entire show without having a snit fit would be a banner performance at this point.
