    Just so I am clear....

If one is unable to make it to a screening, the other chances to see PJ20 are:

    1. DirecTV (and possibly other TV providers)
    2. PBS in October
    3. The DVD that should go on sale sometime (although it is not available for pre-order yet on Amazon).

    Do I have that correct?

    Thanks.

I too would like an answer to this. I can't make the screening in Ottawa next week now, but it will be out on DVD at some point, right???

It's available on Comcast/Xfinity beginning on 9/20...even though I'm waiting 'til the weekend to watch it. Got a really good bottle of wine for the occassion already

LOL! Doesn't this just mean that it's in theaters on 9/20 and not actually on Comcast/Xfinity? Seeing that the trailer is in "Movies in Theaters?" Still possibly a chance that it could be on XBox Live or PSN. Might be a small chance but I have seen independent films get on there pretty quick. I hope it gets on Comcast/Xfinity on 9/20 but the trailer being in the Movies in Theaters section makes me think that it's just in theaters and not on demand. Later

I guess I must have misinterpreted this statement--> "Pearl Jam Twenty will also be available on Movies On Demand timed to the theatrical release." Silly me

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

  • It looks like On Demand is On Demand regardless of your particular cable provider. I just checked OnDemand Weekly and it looks like it'll be on the 24th for everyone that has On Demand service.

If you have On Demand service I think you're all set. You should have it on the 24th.

  • First, this movie was incredible. I also love that Cameron Crowe put his stamp all over it. There were sections where it was so clear who the director was, and that was cool, also.

Anyone who wonders whether to go BluRay or DVD - stop asking and go BluRay. DirecTV had this in 1080p and the clarity is like nothing else. The only issue, I guess is as directors get used to this technology becoming more mainstream is how to handle making old footage look old. This stuff is so clear it's almost not real (hard to explain). I just got a BluRay myself, so I haven't seen many things in 1080p, and it's almost like going from the old tvs to HD (1080i, etc.) the gain in clarity for both the audio and visual. Almost hard to believe. And, it makes watching current "regular" HD that much harder. You actually start noticing that it can actually be clearer.

Oh, and kudos to DirecTV - I ordered it online and set all 4 of my DVR's for it at 6 AM. Not only do I get confirm e-mails on all that (the order and the recordings). That's not the amazing part - I go to watch it, and I notice the little "K" next to the recording - this means - KEEP UNTIL DELETE!!!! So, if you fill up your DVR, this won't be deleted by accident. I've put this setting on one or 2 things before, so I knew what it was. I even checked my other DVR's because I thought - maybe, I did put it on my main one. But, I didn't put it on this - Directv did! So, basically, they have it set so when you record an item you've purchased, the default is it is kept forever.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

This movie is Pay Per View, is it not?

DirecTV's PPV is a 24-hour rental. It will probably be removed from your DVRs 24 hours after you begin the first viewing.

Nope. I saw someone else write this somewhere along the line, also. Still there. Still has the K as in Keep forever. Watched the beginning Saturday morning to make sure it taped properly. Watched it twice in its entirety Saturday night, and it's still there.

You did get me to doubt myself, so I checked the one I watched. I now no longer need the Blu Ray. It was a 24 hour rental on the channel. But, now I have the movie on my DVR 2 days later.

It's just sitting on your DVR taking up space. When you hit play it'll ask you to pay for it again.
  • It was not available on cablevision on demand. sucks. I read about PSN above. Did anyone try and see if it was available on the Playstatoin network? I have not tried that.

I called Directv about DVR'ing this and how it worked if I watched it beyond the 24 hours... I was told I would be charged for the movie again. Although, I would not mind at all if you proved me wrong. :D
  • Yeah I mean no offense, but do you guys really think DirecTV hadn't thought of this? There's no way you can just DVR it and keep it forever when it's PPV. It directly contradicts what PPV means.
