Loving the new album.
So happy that Leave a Light made the cut I fucking love that song.0 -
I LOVE it. I think it's his best yet. And that is a relief - I thought his last album, while good, was worse than the previous. And then the single for this new album had me concerned. But as a full album it"s absolutely fantastic.

I was able to see Glen in a cave in Pelham, TN recently! It was a taping for bluegrass underground. He played 3 off his new record and even stripped down the songs sounded fantastic! I believe it was 9 songs total, but I'm not sure how long it will be when it airs in the fall. If you ever get a chance to see a show at the Caverns, you should definitely go. The acoustics are fantastic. They have a bar and bathrooms etc in the cave as well. It really was a unique and breathtaking venue!
I've been a big fan of Glen's since 2012 and I really think this new record is my favorite of his work. There are some really interesting sounds on this one. Brother's Keeper is the one that keeps getting stuck in my head. From top to bottom though its really solid.0 -
loving this new disc so far!!! can't wait to see him for the first time in portland
picked up the new vinyl this morning. Sounds awesome so far.Post edited by May 30th on0 -
The new album is certainly a different sound from his last few albums. I have enjoyed the first few listens and think it will grow even more on more with more listens.
Whilst I liked his last album, it was not as good as the previous 2.
Hoping he comes back to Australia soon, as he is one of my fav artists to see liveI'll ride the wave where it takes me

Going to see Glen tomorrow in Cleveland. Has anyone caught this tour?
Thoughts? If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0 -
Just got back. For those who care, the show was amazing. Glen has the flu but was still at the top of his game.
Loud mouthed, drunken douches in the crowd couldn't keep their fucking mouths shut but Glen dealt with them appropriately.
He is playing with a full band but no horn section like the last tour we saw. All of them are first rate musicians.
In all, great performance by a great band.If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0 -

Oh man! I'm sorry.
Seeing him yesterday, I can understand the cancellation. He was looking pretty rough and was very apologetic about the performance. I thought it was still great but it looked like he was having a hard time.
I sincerely hope that he gets better soon. The world needs Glen Hansard right now.If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0 -
Just saw him in Chicago on Friday. He was awesome as usual, though I really haven't been able to get into his latest album. I thought the 2 prior albums were fucking amazing though. I also missed having the brass backing that he had from the last tour.
Also, as Cincinnati is aware, he doesn't seem to be doing well. You could definitely tell he was under the weather on Friday. And he mentioned it a few times. Cheers to Glen for still putting out his best effort. Dude seems like a legit guy."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0 -

I hope Glen feels better soon. His contribution to the world of music is undeniable.
After seeing him five times so far, I'm still surprised at the power he possesses in his voice, guitar playing and songwriting abilities. If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0
