I wasn't there, but this would have happened to me too. I got emotional just seeing that song title in the setlist thread. What a song, and its finally back.
Balled my eye's out at certain points...everyone I met at the show I kept telling them that this wasn't just a concert, it was like some kind of a spiritual experience!!! It's as if for a brief moment, Pearl Jam and everyone there, was, if only for that moment, shown what Heaven on Earth really could be like...did you see the way the sky opened up when Eddie came and played with Glen Hansard?? Breath Taking!!
Had tears in my eyes during Temple of the Dog's "Say Hello to Heaven". I listened to that song a lot in February when my mom died and certainly didn't expect to hear it in concert ever. Great surprise!

Was truly amazing hearing this. While it was written for Andrew Wood, it can really be applied to anyone you know that has unfortunately passed away. It was easily one of my favorite moments of the weekend.

The performance that REALLY got to me wasn't even on the main stage...
I teared up when Ed joined Glen for "Falling Slowly"
One of the BEST performances at PJ20!!!
I did have the BIG EAR TO EAR GRIN during the WASH opener...
and ALMOST lost it for "LBC" :ugeek:

Cried with joy at Release as I was finally at a Pearl Jam concert and this was the opener
Cried with RVM as it's my 'driving while singing at the top of my lungs' song to get all the shit out of my system.
Cried with LBC.
Cried at Black because it was the song I heard when I accidentally 'discovered' PJ on YouTube and became an instant fan (I'd need to write an essay to explain it all so just accept it)
Lost it completely with Just Breathe...personal reasons.
Woke up this morning with Deep playing in my head and cried again!
BTW...I don't cry too much so this was a big deal!
Ditto. Been to 100+ concerts of many bands and only twice have I welled up with tears. LBC was one of them.

- Release
- Betterman (not even one of my favorite songs or anything, but did you guys see the crowd during this thing? Easily the best participation/unity of the entire weekend)
- LBC
- Just Breathe (again, not really a song I cared to see live, but it somehow got me, dammit. )
- Red Mosquito (right at the "if I had knowwwwwn, then...")
Just Breathe got me this time. It is nice that, as we get older, the song topics also get "older." One reason why it is easy to still love this band after 20 years.

I was so touched and choked up by It's OK but the full on tears didn't start until Unthought Known. I felt it coming at "Feel the sky blanket you" and completely lost it at "See the path cut by the moon. For you to walk on"
As a crier, I'm surprised I didn't bawl more. I was just too blown away.
I was so high on the music at the venue that crying wasn't on the agenda... but on Monday, oh man, I came so close as I ran through their performances in my head.

i myself choked up many of times, first was friday night picking up my tickets just the thought of what was going to happen this weekend alone got to me. Wash got me, Black always gets me. Great times!

No tears actually fell, but I did well up quite a bit:
- "Release" always does it to me, but when Ed sang, "Oh dead Dad, can you see this now," yep, choked up.
- "Faithfull" All those voices!
- "Save It For Later" tag. Beautiful.
- "Given To Fly" I thought we sang the shit out of that one.
- "It's OK" Man, I lost it on this one. Those chords started, and I was a basket case instantly.
- "No Way"
- "Rockin' in the Free World" My voice was warbling like you wouldn't believe. It was just so powerful, and the entirety of the weekend was really sinking in at that point. I knew the end would be coming, and I was just so overwhelmed with emotion.
YL...only because I knew the entire weekend was over, that I'd have to say goodbye to friends I may not see again for a while, friends I may never see again, and that it was one of the best shows I have been to, and it will be hard to top this weekend.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I'm actually really struggling with this. PJ shows will never be the same again and will always feel like they are missing something because ALL of us will likely never be there together again. It was kind of a bittersweet weekend but I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you were there, how could you not choke up as everyone sang "Release Me!!!!"
So, she says..." are you crying?", paused, shook her head and walked out...
I love her to pieces, but she'll never understand what this weekend was like.
