  • I wonder if that stupid fuck post's here if you do you're a jack ass ....asshole :x
jesus greets me looks just like me ....
  • My family and I were watching the show when this landed on my head. Thank god for my daughter and the man in front of us who pulled it off me and stomped it out! Never saw it coming. Just a extremely bright light. It burned off some of my hair and my nose inside (from breathing it in). My nose still hurts inside...but will recover! Thank god it wasn't any worse!!! I would like to thank Suziemay and the sweet gentleman in front (never got your name) His quick thinking saved not only me but others in the area!!! What a totally STUPID thing to do. Not the place to let these off!!! Thank you again to Suzie and the sweetheart in front of us!!!!! PEACE to all....Mary

De Nada Mary (and thanks for the nice words Suziemay). I wish I would have been able to meet you under better circumstances! One of my friends who I told the story to told me about this post and just wanted to say hello and that I am very glad you are ok. Thankfully nothing worse happened although very sorry to hear about the hair/nose/lip...thought I got to that stupid thing quick enough.

Also agree 1000% that there is nothing cool about those things and everyone that was in our section and saw it land on someone just trying to watch and enjoy a show can attest to that. Whoever lit that to begin with should have their head examined and anyone thinking of doing it in the future, please just dont.

Hey there, wish I thought to thank you in person, everything happened so quickly and then we all just went back to focus on the show. That was pretty awesome what you did, prevented something that could have been really bad. That was a big flame for a tiny tealight.
  • Thanks for checking in to let us know that you're alright, SuzieMay. And, well done, Brosa. Your quick thinking and action made this pretty much a non-story instead of a truly terrible one.
AskPearlJam: PearlJama101-guest says: Who's idea was it for Eddie to play banjo on "Soon Forget"?
Eddie: I don't know whose idea it was but it was turned down.

They sold these things at fireworks stands by us this year. We saw one floating through the sky on July 2nd and were very confused by what it was. Then we saw it at the stand the next day, bought one, and set it on its way in our neighborhood.

And those things TRAVEL. Fast and with good distance. A person mentioned they're usually set off over water, it would have to be a large body of water, like a Great Lake or the ocean to be able to guarantee it would land in water. I wouldn't be surprised if the range of those things is over 5 miles.

If you want to google, try "sky lantern" or even "wish lantern".

People. Please do not light these ANYWHERE. If I saw you lighting one in my neighborhood I would call the police. You lit this thing and then let it float anywhere to set someones home, business or a forest on fire. You are a jack ass.
Forced to endure, what I cannot forgive.
