I can't watch you tube at work it's blocked but this is one of those e-mails going around, here is the e-mail.

PLEASE SHARE BEFORE IT IS REMOVED

This video clearly shows that George Bush warned Congress starting in 2001, that this economic crisis was Coming, if something was not done. But Congress refused to Listen, along with the arrogant Congressman, Barney Frank. This video says it all. The liberal media reportedly did not want this video on You Tube; it was taken off. This link is of the same video, but is routed through Canada . Everyone in America needs to see this before it is yanked off the Internet again! Let's see how far we can spread it before it's pulled off the Canadian site.

    FACT CHECK:
In the 1996, 1998, and 2000 elections, Republicans lost Congressional seats but still retained control of the House and, more narrowly, the Senate.
After the 2000 election, the Senate was divided evenly between the parties, with Republicans retaining the right to organize the Senate due to the election of Dick Cheney as Vice President and ex officio presiding officer of the Senate.
The Senate shifted to control by the Democrats (though they technically were the plurality party as they were one short of a majority) after GOP senator Jim Jeffords changed party registration to "Independent" in June 2001, but later returned to Republican control after the November 2002 elections.
In the 2006 elections, Democrats won both the House of Representatives (233 Democrats, 202 Republicans) and the Senate (49 Democrats, 49 Republicans, and 2 Independents caucusing with the Democrats) as well as the majority of state governorships (28-22).

I know... Wikipedia as a source... but, these numbers can be validated by checking who sat in what seats at the official Congressional website.

You are saying that then President Bush tried to warn a then Republican controlled Congress, who had control of the Congress since 1996 and did nothing, after being warned, from 2001 to 2006.
What conclusion do you come away with?
    ...
My guess... FOX News was the one who took the video down from YouTube, out of embarassment.

What I find laughable is that you still believe that only Americans use and read this board, even having been told numerouos times. I am not American, and I believe that Bush was / is a war monger, I believe that Obama has let people down and has some serious questions to answer himself.

No you see Godfather, it doesn't have to be one or the other, there is plenty of blame to go around. And just because Bush is no longer in office does not mean he should get a pass. History is about learning lessons, and the only way lessons can be learned is if those who have made mistakes are held accountable for them.

Godfather maybe you can answer this - why does it always have to be one side or the other? Why if someone does not agree with you that they are automatically branded as Dems or liberal?

Even by your own admission you say that you posted this for no other reason than to sit back and get a laugh from the reaction. Now you may disagree with me, most likely that you do - this how ever should not pigeon hole me into either camp.

well at least I got a laugh out of you  and peging you to any party is not my intent I don't care what party anybody on here is,this is just a reminder that all the crap people talk about Bush or Regan or anybody else who has been president that the mud slinging goes in both directions and maybe we sometimes we let our support for a president or party cloud our judgment or blind us from what is really happening,if I brand anybody a dem or a lib it's because that they have branded me a repub so it's only jokingly that I would call anyone a party supporter...I thought that I have made it clear in past post that I am not any party "I vote for the best liar" be them dem repub or lib but I must say in 2012 I will not vote repub or for obama and not sure who I will vote for yet. I hope that clears up my intentions for this thread for you and I hope that you are not angry..this is just good fun and some cool info on the Train that's all. ;)

That's the thing... what it sounds like is political partisanship. You are trying to defend Republicans from Democrats.
The truth is, most people here assign accountability for the ones responsible for the actions that lead to the consequences. All it ever sounds like you are doing is defending Bush, not because of his decisions, but because of his political party affiiation.
And you mistake our holding Bush responsible as supporting President Obama. That is a false pretense. We are holding Bush responsible for the consequences of his decisions and actions... and we hold Prsident Obama responsible for HIS decisions and actions. We are not partisan hacks.

Well, there you go, again... more partisan hackmanship.
Your points... yes, we were attacked. That fact is undisputed. We were attacked by Al Qaeda, NOT IRAQ! Yes, going after Afghanistan/Taliban for harboring Al Qaeda was the right thing to do. Going into Iraq and leaving Afghanistan half-baked and allowed to fester into the lost cause mess it is today was the wrong thing to do.
The economy... I just pointed out that both Houses were under Republican control when Bush issued these warnings... why didn't THEY say, "hay we're headed for a train reck" or do something between 2001 and 2006? Instead, it was allowed to continue until the entire thing almost fell into full collapse.
    ...
We didn't show you 'how to play the game'... you were apparently self taught by only listening to ONE side (your side) and getting all of your information from ONE side (FOX News). You are the only one playing this game... we're not in this game.
Again... assigning RESPONSIBILITY to the RESPONSIBLE party is what I am doing... NOT defending President or Democrats or Liberals... it is holding those RESPONSIBLE, accountable for their actions. Which, I always thought was a cornerstone of Conservative thinking.

"Aside from the president today, no one has suggested the highway bill will be allowed to expire," Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck said. "Republicans support an extension of the highway bill and appreciate the need for a long-term solution for infrastructure projects."
