Madams Organ at 5pm isn't exactly a blast. I don't know if they open up either of the top floors that early and it might just be people eating dinner on the ground floor. After the show it would be great. Before, not so much.

If people want something other than Cap City, I'd hit Rocket or Elephant and Castle. Rocket is always a good time and my favorite bar in the city. As someone mentioned they played a ton of PJ before the show last month. In addition to the $3 PBR, you can get a Fosters oil can for $5. E&C would be a good option because it is only a block from the Warner and there aren't many bars where you can sit outside and look down Penn Ave to the Capitol.

If anyone is looking for really cheap beer - but this is not close to Warner and actually a door or two down from Madams Organ - go to Asylum. On Saturday's, 50 cent High Life from 5-6pm, with it increasing by 50 cents every hour. Just make sure you don't drink so much that you knock over all the bikes out front when you leave.

I am staying at the JW Marriott which is less than 2 blocks from the Warner Theatre, I would prefer to keep the meet up near the venue but I am only 1 person. Hopping in a cab is not a big deal but I remember how easy it was in San Diego having to only walk a few minutes to Spreckels...my vote is for local.......I have nothing against Madam's Organ, in fact whenever I visit DC I usually hit that place up. The only thing about that establishment is the size, I think they have an upstairs room that may accomodate some extra people.

Im sure if there was a group of us they would give us the upstairs. Bump. And it's a Saturday - who doesn't start drinking at 4 o clock?

Yeah, I am just pointing it out if a lot of people are there- getting a cab for all of them at 6 PM won't be as easy as New York would. And just letting everyone from out of town know they can't walk from there. Adams Morgan can be a good time, lots of bars and restaurants. I will probably hit up cap city brewing.

See you there steelerfan !! I hear its close to the venue and a good spot for brews and apps. ill be there with bells on.

I'm gonna drink my face off then come in the middle of the show, in the middle of a song, and bust my way through my row screaming "EXCUSE ME!" as loud as possible while he's singing. What ya think about that????

I don't think we ever will. I think the meet-up should be afterwards....in Dupont Circle...getting drunk....and stuffing the jukebox with dollar bills so nothing but PJ plays the rest of the night.

**NOTE - as I'm writing this in my apartment bedroom at 445 am drinking the last of the beer in the fridge I literally just heard gun shots go off outside. And I'm suppose to be in one of the more "classy" parts of Philly. Someone's gotta seriously do something about the fucking violence in this city. It is fucking ridiculous.**

    Good nite.

Oh no! My daughter is in Philly now at a training session for her job. You're not around Temple University, are you?

Sounds good, let's make it offical! Cap City is the place to be August 16th. According to the sources, our tickets purchased on TC are already predetermined so it won't matter what time you pick them up, so we have until 6:30 at Cap City! See you all then.

Not much for pre-show. But would be up for some good post-show beers, more good music and meeting some fellow fans to shoot the shit with.

She's alright right? Nah I don't live near Temple - that's North Philly, and considered like the Harlem of Philly. Woops, maybe I shouldn't have put it that way. Um, er, anyway...so...post-show beers at Madam's Organ? Alright then.
  • Nor do I care - take a cab. It'll take 2 minutes. Madam's Organ (2), bitches!!
    yes!!!

This dude knows what's up!! It's literally a 5 minute ride or you can take the metro to metro center which is 3 or 4 blocks from the venue.

Adams Morgan has like 45,000 bars on the strip. You will find something you like. This place is the spot to be for the POST-party as well. Usually some quality blues-rock and a roof top bar. Also way out of the way of pompous DC assholes...which is the best part!

  • Forgot to mention, it's also restaurant week in DC. which essentially, you can go get a $200 meal for two for $35. It's freakin awesome. So go some place classy, drink up, and see Ed Ved.

Nice! I love restaurant week here in Philly - it's always sweet. Definitely taking advantage of that. By the way, thank you for the enlargement of head and testicles for the compliment above. Madam's Organ in Adam's Morgan is the bomb! Oh, and cooking bacon naked at Stetson's! Like I said do whatever before the show, but afterwards should be a definite drink-up at M.O. As stated - NO DOUCHE BAGS! Well, I can't promise none at all, but definitely not the majority. Plain ole' rock and/or roll.

Hahaha -- nice way to make a mom worry! She's fine -- the training is over on Saturday morning. Temple University itself seemed really nice.

I've always thought the name Madam's Organ was very clever.

Yeah it is - you and your daughter should hit up the Organ after the show. And yes, Temple is a nice school - just not in the greatest area.

With all seriousness, need singles for both nights. If you're a TenC member (which I am) it would be even better. I am on the west coast and this whole thing about me even trying is ridiculous. But there is an urgent need for seeing the white pants and the boyscout shirt again. I just don't have the power to fight this need.
I hope everybody gets my dry humor and doesn't think that I am just there for seeing a certain piece of clothing rather than the experience itself.

Wait. So, it's not about the clothing?

I'll try to talk her into it. For some reason she doesn't want to make the bar scene with her old mother.
