Any love for Weezer here?

  • Normally I would say nothing but there is no other band I hate more than Weezer. Just awful.
I get visibly upset when they come on the radio lol
    creed? nickelback?
I’m an outlier here I’m sure... but I cannot handle Weezer. If Creed or Nickleback come in the radio I don’t get angry, I just laugh
fair enough. just can't imagine why a band like weezer would incite anger in someone. they are such a fun band. kind of a heavy beatles.
The singer. The band should have been named “Whiner”.  None of their songs mean anything to me...kind of like those lame hair metal bands in the late 80s-early 90s which drew me to PJ in the first place
“Whiner.” You do know you’re on a Pearl Jam message board, yeah? Eddie was considered a whiner for a long time. I’d say from 91-2009, there was a good chunk of the music world who fell into the “quit whining about how fame suck” or “shut up and sing.”
I know where I am. Im talking about his voice.... it’s a whiny sound. Listen bud you can be the biggest Weezer fan in the world, hats off. It was an open question on a message board and I answered it.  No love for Weezer here lol

  • Thanks...bud
I get it. You want the last word.
I’m tapping out. I’m wondering why I even ventured in to talk about Weezer.
    ill blame the Morphine 😎

Two weezer albums out this year? OK Human comes out in a few weeks. Think it's suppose to be a play on words from OK Computer. Single out in a few days. Album cover looks cool

I guess I should be paying more attention to Weezer band member interviews. Taken from

The Life of Brian - All Things Loud Meets Weezer, All Things Loud, July 17, 2019

    Highlights
Interviewer: You guys have got three albums in the pipeline whose releases are imminent, right?
Brian: There’s two. There is a third thing, but I can’t talk about it. One is more finished than the other. They’re both very interesting and I’m very excited for one of them.
Interviewer: Are these more high-concept albums?
Brian: Yeah, one of them is called OK Human which seems to be about technology and how it’s running our life.
Interviewer: Not just lyrically, but on the last few albums it feels as though you’re exploring specific musical themes, almost like an exploration into new genres.
Brian: Yeah. OK Human is unlike anything I’ve ever heard, unlike any other type of music and unlike any Weezer music. In the bass, if you really broke it down to its common denominator, it still goes one, four, five in a major key for the most part. That’s very Weezer, that’s very Sweater Song, but it does it in more sophisticated ways.

During the summer of COVID-19 we grabbed our masks, hit the studio & began to chip away at what is now known as OK Human. An album that was made by a handful of humans using only analog technologies (including a 38 piece orchestra) for all of you humans to consume.

OK Human was made at a time when humans-playing-instruments was a thing of the past. All we could do is look back on ancient times when humans really mattered and when the dark tech-takeover fantasy didn’t exist. We used our instruments to connect to the 1960’s and 1970’s and, with the orchestra, back to the 18th and 19th centuries. We had no click track or loops or hi-tech sounds. Not even an electric guitar.

  • You know... I raised an eyebrow when they had the audacity to put out a "white album."

To put out.. an "OK..." album... I dunno.. I hold OK Computer in the highest regard. You're on thin ice, Weezer.

.....but i honestly, non-ironically think Weezer's "white album".... is their best complete album....

...So lets see whatcha got with OK Human, boys!!

I haven't felt this way about a new album from a 90s alternative band since STP's Perdida.

Will always like the blue album time period.

“No one else” , “surfwax america”, “hear you me”.  “Jamie”.  Etc.  great songs and good memories.

Saw them in 97.  They sucked but it was a fun time with my friends.  Ive never been able to get into their other albums.

Thanks to this thread, I'm really digging the new album. I haven't listened to a new Weezer album in years, but this one isn't the typical Weezer album. I was hoping to get it on vinyl, but it looks like their store and Amazon are soldout.

Check with your local independent record store. There's supposed to be a special vinyl release for them today.
