I just tried them on and they are extremely comfy. I just might have to keep these and wear them to PJ20.

vans run more true to size then any shoe you will ever get. Im actually surprised they are comfy off the bat, usually takes a while to break in.

"Shoes are guaranteed, Shoe Boxes are not."

Did they just add that though or was it there the entire time?
It was there the entire time. Always thought it was weird that they mentioned it...

    Huh, thanks.

I have a pair of the Vans lace up sneakers that I am comparing them to. The new slip ons are definitely more cushioned. Not sure if that's the case with all their slip on style shoes.

Hmm, I don't remember that last part...
Either way, why even have a picture of the box and tissue paper?
Its like they were hoping people wouldn't read that part (if it was originally there) and just buy the shoes...

True enough, it is a bit silly. But, people here collect all kinds of weird things.

Well I bought them for the shoes not the box, but I imagine some people aren't going to be happy about this.

Not me. I bought them for the box and especially for the tissue poster. Or was it poster tissue?

(just kidding, I'm actually kinda excited to try them on now!!)

The wife and I are gonna go to the local Vans shop to try on shoes that are similar to the PJ20s....I want to make sure they fit correctly before I order any.

people can think this is dumb but they were originally advertised with the box and tissue paper. Not getting what was advertised with the shoes does not make me happy.

    Thank you.

I like to collect odd ball stuff like this and it was disappointing to receive something not how it was originally advertised. From what I have heard, the PJ Vans from the Vans website (not the 10C exclusives) were all shipped in a PJ shoe box with PJ tissue poster. I am not bitching though because 10C said I could return them if I want and I think the shoes themselves are really great. I will keep mine, but I just know that there are some serious collectors out there who might have purchased these and probably won't be too happy.

I don't think you're being dumb, however I think from the start the site did state that the boxes weren't guaranteed unless they added that later. You have the right to be disappointed, but I don't think it was false advertising. However, if NONE of the shoes arrive in PJ boxes than I'm with you on the false advertising. I was kinda excited about the box too but I will still be happy with just the shoes.

people can use the non-PJ tissue to wipe their tears once they see that they have received said tissue.

So ironic that the source of sadness can also be used to wipe away the result of said sadness.

But seriously, it woulda been cool to get the PJ tissue.

I thought I clarified myself about the box thing. I know it said may or may not, but they both at one time said they came with Pearl Jam tissue poster.

I really wanted that tissue man! Who knows what the bathroom scenarios are going to be like next weekend.

Watch out! This is serious business. Don't want the PJ police to come down on you for belittling peoples PJ problems.

I understand how people have issues with the tissues

(I would never belittle someone regarding collecting stuff...plenty of other reasons!)
  • Received the shoes and tissue. Trust me, it's nothing to you need to have and of zero value, even as a keepsake. It's all shredded and crumpled like tissue paper should be after wrapping a shoe in a shoebox. I think it's a nice gesture to have the PJ tissue paper when you open the box but whether you wear the shoes or display them only, it's the shoes that are the star here. The tissue paper will never make an appearance.

Just trying to make people feel better not challenge your feelings about not getting the paper.

Damn, many sizes in both styles are sold out!

However, the non-10C models look like they are still available on the Vans website
  • Ordered my size 6 slip-on's last night! Yaaay! I can't wait to wear them! :D

it's true. you'd be surprised, there are serious shoe collectors out there and the box DOES matter...especially if it's a "one of a kind" box.

I think this part was already there. They likely just recently removed the info about the tissue paper. It's still listed on the Hi tops page though.

You are correct. It was just the tissue part they removed. When I spoke with them they said just the slip ons do not come with the tissue. The hi tops should have the tissue, just not the guaranteed box I guess???

Wait a second. So if we bought the slip on one's we don't get the PJ tissue & PJ custom box. And not all hi top orders will have a custom box, but they will all include PJ tissue paper inside, or all hi top's get a custom PJ box?

Got the hi-top ones today. I love them! :) They did come in the PJ box and with the PJ tissue paper. The box was kind of mangled but FRAGILE was posted on the mailer...so I'm guessing PJ received them in that condition and tried to keep them from further abuse.

It looks like the slips ons dont have them unfortunately, in the description it says "Shoes are guaranteed, box is not" or some such thing.

It was very quick! Ordered on 8/22 received on 8/27. Of course they came from Seattle and I live in Bellingham so not too far to ship....usually 2 days. I'd say you have a chance. :)
Edit: Or maybe not seeing as your're in Canada...not sure about the mail...although you are close! Good luck! :)
