Wow, what a thread. I guess I can consider myself thankful that I don't really have any personal stories to contribute to the thread.

But this is what it's all about. If Come Back is played at PJ20 my beer will be raised in the air toasting everybody that you all just mentioned in this thread.

I feel the exact same way. I have been begging for Hard To Imagine for years, but because of this thread I would pick Come Back or Man of the Hour over that song because they mean so much to some people here.

this is amazing!:) i can't help myself from laughing after these two messages. in a positive way, guys. it is incredible how people can create bonds based on their common experiences not during fe. wars but thru art!! what an understanding, compassion and .. whatever. never met any of you, but i know we share something we will not be able to get rid off.
toast to them at PJ20 and enjoy time with your loved ones. they tend to go away too fast at times.

    peace,
    m.

Hard to Imagine. That is the song I have been playing while my Grandfather was dying and since he has passed. I do not know why but that song just hits the spot. 20 years old that song, I never was a real fan of the song...than it just hit me somehow, some way. I am thankful it did.

DC 08 is the best version I've ever heard...doesn't get much better than that.

So happy that I've been lucky enough to hear this song live 2 times.

Isn't it strange then that this is the one song I mentioned?

This song was played in Chicago 09 one month after I buried my 10 month old daughter and I completely lost it. Leading up to the concert, I would sit gravesite and sing this song to her, and then to hear PJ play it....I would give anything to hear them play it again at PJ20....so much emotion tied to it for me

  • I lost my daughter back in 2002, so everytime i hear come back it´s impossible not to remember her..

so if pj plays come back at alpine valley, please, enjoy every minute of the song and, like capthowdy1027 wrote, make a toast to everyone that lost a beloved one...

after all, that´s the meaning of music; thanks to pearl jam we can share feelings and emotions...
