I saw this yesterday and think it's a stupid attempt by some people desparate for attention. Arranged marriages have no place on Sesame Street.

Gotta love when adults push their weird little beliefs onto neutral things that children do not see. Reminds me of when they said a tellatubby was gay. Ain't it grand when we teach people to discriminate.
    CONservative governMENt

Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis

man, all this controversy down on S-Street!
Was it Katy Perry who was recently edited out after they decided her cleavage was too...um, there?
Next thing you know, they'll de-criminalize the crap that the nutty professor and Beaker are making out in Muppet-town.

Who cares? Fox News is making a big deal about a random online petition (of only 900 petitioners) that honestly has no serious merit other than people having an opinion. Big whoop. I'm sure we could make an online petition calling for the legalization of any random controversially ridiculous issue and it could pull 900 signatures.

  • OK, first of all... I knew Ernie and Bert were TV's first interracial gay couple from the time I was about 7.

Second... this is a silly parody petition on Facebook, anyone who takes it seriously is an idiot.

Most of all, Tinky Winky wasn't gay, Tinky Winkie carried a purse... she was transgendered.

    "Gay way of thinking"??

Well, its probably not a choice for some puppets, since they're born with a hand up their ass.. ;)
All joking aside, has anyone ever seen Bert or Ernie wear pants? Geesh, those promiscuous gay puppets, shame on them.

The irony here is that Fox, etc., are doing exactly what they claim to oppose... pushing their homophobic agenda onto someone else.

Why should it be such a big deal that they are gay? I hope they do get married so it can start paving the way for states to wake up and allow gay marriage.

When will our media stop making a huge deal about whether someone is gay or not? Maybe when people stop paying attention. Or maybe when gays start getting more respect and equal rights just like any other person.

I like to think that we are evolving as a people when it comes to accepting others for who they are, not what race, religion, sexual orientation they are. But when I was watching CNN the other day I saw the whole panel of hosts make fun of another host because he likes showtunes, and other "non-manly" things, insinuating that he is gay. Then I think otherwise.
