Strange Opener To Start A Setlist

VA BEACH 98 OPENED WITH ANIMAL,ENDED WITH PORCH that was a strange way to start and end a show.

    I was looking at the setlists the other day and back in 2003 they opened with Cropduster at a show, off the top of my head i cant remember the show, maybe Bonner Springs? Now thats a strange opener if ever i saw one!

    Saw them open with I Am Mine at Albany 03. Definitely unexpected....

    Animal's a fucking great opener, up there with Go for me.....

    Ledbetter should always finish a show for me, with the lights on but Porch aint so bad

    Lexington 03, one hell of a show, and i simply love cropduster..
    In a show of the VS era they opened with indifference.. Fuckin' great song, but i don't see it like an opener..

    My first show. I have a really crappy boot of that. I wish they would open the vault on that one. Also where Black for LOTL came from.

    Holy Crap......worst show ever!!!! :-)

    I would be bummed if that was the first song I heard at a show. It killed the energy at MSG II 08.

    I've seen Evenflow, Porch, and Betterman as openers. Talk about strange.

    Or is it Even Flow - two words? I'm never sure...

    All I know is that I would be really caught off guard and thinking I was in the 'twilight zone' if they opened with something like Yellow Ledbetter or Baba O'Riley.....

    I would have never believed that they'd open with "Hard to Imagine" on this last tour. That was pretty unexpected don't you think?

    I've only seen four shows and the openers were:

    Small Town
    Go and
    Long Road x2.

    IMHO, nothing beats opening with Go.

    Once or twice in Camden, they opened with Release. I absolutely loved it.

    Hail, Hail opened Atlanta in 98. It definitely seems like a weird opener, but it was incredible. Plus, it was my first show.

    Strangest for me was Camden 1 in 2006 with Wasted Reprise into Life Wasted, which was cool, but I didn't see it coming. I think it was the first time that they did that, but I could be wrong.

    Another strange one was Severed Hand for Camden 2 on this past tour. I know they've done it before, but I was hoping for something like Long Road or Sometimes. Plus, it would have been cooler if they hadn't played Severed Hand the night before, but it was still awesome.

    That was the one I was thinking of. Glad you remembered the actual show..I just remembered it happened. Pretty crazy..

    In Grand Rapids I thought Small Town into Given to Fly was a weird 1-2, but maybe that was because I was counting down the days for over a month.

    i've seen animal as an opener and it pretty much freaked me right out
