i just heard that Glasgow isnt getting its shipment of cheap Vodka for this weekend so the city is preparing for the worst ;)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

OK here. Kingston had a number of police around and some shops boarded, others with goods taken out of the window, a couple of very small squirmishes, but it seems it's staying calm.

Guess too many cops in London now so the yobs have moved elsewhere....

Scotland will be all right. You didn't scrap EMAs and you've no Tories.

There was trouble outside my window last night. Screeching cars, shouting, and a police helicopter. Here's my local news:

Wow the UK sure does have some major problems.

I blame rap music, heavy metal and violent video games.

I just talked to a friend of mine over there, aside from the shooting you might be right on the money,
I haven't been keeping up with this crap but people just baffle me some times..they destroy their own neighborhoods to show someone how pissed off they are ....or is it just a good excuse to loot the local liquor store and get a new t.v

on the radio this morning i heard a girl say she(and i imagine her circle) were rioting to show the police that they could do whatever they wanted and they couldnt be stopped. all i could do was shake my head in disbelief... what the fuck is wrong with people when they reduce themselves to this kind of behaviour?

  • Things were sketchy in Coventry last night.
Damage happened, looting took place, a tree was set on fire as well as a few cars; Sirens everywhere and helicopters circling. Apparently we had large groups of hooded, masked, weapon bearing youths within a mile of our house, in two directions.

Birmingham? Well, that was a war zone. Dave works just outside Birmingham and has to go through the centre (the main station; New Street) to get home. At 3:45pm, over 40 youths were walking around New Street with hoods up and scarves around their faces... at 5:45 last night, a van and a car were ignited at Moor Street trains station and over 300 youths of varying backgrounds had gathered outside New Street station with faces covered, weilding sticks and weapons such as baseball bats and crowbars, the same was seen around the Bullring shopping centre; just moments before they broke into House Of Fraser...

Luckily Dave's boss let him leave at 3:30pm. He saw the youths in New Street at 3:45 but just hopped straight on a train and got home. Words can't express how glad I was to see him.

The really sad thing? Three men (two of which were brothers) were murdered in Birmingham trying to protect their communities.

I'm not gonna lie, it's fucking scary. We don't have enough Police to help everyone.

David Cameron has A LOT to answer for.

100% true.. and it won't happen in the UK as it would totally undermine the police.

i disagree dimitris.. this looting and mindless violence that is taking place is not an expression of democracy. the army is there for defense.. i see no difference if the threat comes from within or without.

This SONY distribution centre has left almost a hundred independent labels with almost no stock and you would imagine many will now be forced to close. Very sad.

The recent Sony DADC warehouse fire has begun to affect the release schedule.

The riots in London on Monday (August 8th) caused widespread damage and disturbances. However the fire at a Sony DADC Warehouse was perhaps the most shocking incident from a night of violence.

Looters broke into the three story warehouse, causing a fire that burned the Enfield building to the ground. Used by distribution service PIAS, the result has left almost a hundred independent labels with almost no stock.

the majority of these idiots couldn't spell democracy... they are only doing for this for new trainers, jeans, phones or a TV.

First spot we hit it was my liquor store,
I finally got all that alcohol I can't afford,
red lights flashin' time to retire,
And then we turned that liquor store into a structure fire,

Next stop we hit it was the music shop,
It only took one brick to make that window drop,
Finally we got our own p.a.,
Where do you think I got this guitar that you're hearing today

I both agree and disagree. Considering this whole thing started due to authority shooting a man, armed military presence (Marshall Law) will goad these brain dead morons further. Hand guns have already been seen and rioters have shot at police, we don't need them trying to further prove the Country can't handle the situation.
On the other hand, the Police are over stretched and certainly not coping in certain areas (Manchester was literally a game of cat and mouse) so we could do with a strong authoritive presence that won't take any shit... only trouble is, if they bring in the military, the Government have to admit they're not coping and that won't happen; ten minutes after a car fire was started in Coventry last night, the Chief Inspector tweeted that Coventry was calm and there were no disturbances. They're playing it down BIG TIME.

Cameron announced water cannons are on stand-by... that's something I guess.

Why would the army be needed?!!? The problem here is that it is no longer acceptable to give someone a belt with a baton cause every little fucker has their camera phones on them looking to accuse them of battery & assault. The incident that took place in Tottenham is now a completely seperate issue to what has been happening across the UK. If this is deemed a crisis call a curfew and when the old bill come across these little scumbags they should baton charge them and not have to be afraid of the consequences. At the moment they don't fear the police or what awaits them after this all settles down (what an asbo or community service?). It pisses me off seeing the complete lack of respect for peoples property and right to earn a living.

    Thats my 2 cent anyway.

police can solve it..they dont want to use to much violence..there special teams in police can do the job..they let this go different..all is politics..nothing to do with people in the streets or police work..its a fuckin politic game..
