E.v. Memphis?

Local radio dj is saying that E.V. will add a memphis show on his tour in late AUGUST. FOR THE WM3.. Not sure how reliable his source is. To play MEMPHIS would be SWEET!

Cool! I hope Memphis gets it. Memphis and Nashville are two of the cities I would really like to see Pearl Jam or Ed. I think I'm just not going to stop spending money this year.

Speaking as one who was born and raised in the Mid-South, I'd love to see this happen.

The Ryman Auditorium is, however, in Nashville. The most likely venue in Memphis would have to be the Orpheum.

If this happens, LukinFan, we can stay with my family in north Mississippi.

West Memphis is just across the river from Memphis.

as someone who went to college near Memphis, i dearly hope EV plays there, cause NO ONE plays around that area (no one i wanted to see anyways). I'm pretty sure its going to be at the Orpheum.

Forget memphis...why not do a flood benefit show in Iowa City or Cedar Rapids?

I mean...Pearl Jam as a whole did a Katrina benefit didn;t they? Iowa deserves at least some of that love and Ed Ved solo would fit the bill.

I hope this isn't getting my hopes up for nothin'. I'd definitely make the drive to Memphis to see him.

I second whoever said that about The Ryman. I mentioned that in one of the "play the south" threads. I can't wait to see The Raconteurs there in September.

Just three hours up I-55 for me! While I would love to see Ed at the Orpheum, I think I would rather see the whole band properly blow the roof off the Forum.....that place hasn't been christened until they play there. Not that I am complaining at all because I would certainly try to see Ed...what better excuse for a wild weekend in Memphis!?!

I've already bought tickets and booked hotels in Chicago for Chi1. I'd loved for Eddie to come to Memphis and I'll see the show here too if it happens, but it would have been nice to know he would be in my own backyard before I had to coerce my husband to travel all the way to Chicago so I could be close to the other love of my life. He's number 1 on my Frank Sinatra list! My hubby feels like a third wheel sometimes.
