Check the Movie Thread. Few comments about 'Rise'.
I loved the movie, thought it was one of the best films made in recent years. I don't think someone needs to be a fan of the originals to love or understand 'Rise' rather have a good/decent grasp on 'life' and the 'nature of man'. That should be enough for someone to really get into the movie.
i'm not a fan of the series, but tossed on that 2001 film sunday night. i could only stomach 2 minutes of it before moving on to a different show. brutal

I watched a fairly decent copy last night. The only thing that was a bit annoying was it had dutch subtitles on the screen for the whole movie. But the film was in English and such. but it got a bit distracting at times, and there was one or two small parts that the ape signed and an English subtitle came up but it was cover by the Dutch.
As for the movie I thought it was great, but like someone else said I was watching and it was kinda not going anywhere and I realised there was like half an hour left and I was thinking they better wrap this up quick, and they did. The last 15-20 minutes was the most monkey breaking shit type action the rest was setting up to that. But it does look like there will be some sort of sequel.
might give it a week or two for an IMAGINE version
As a fan of the Ape movies I quite enjoyed watching Rise.
Could of been a tad more action though.
The actor that was Gollum in LOTR played Caesar.
Lots of good laughs in it.
Another habit says its long overdue
Another habit like an unwanted friend
I'm so happy with my righteous self
while discussing the new movie with my father last week and whether i would see it or not, i told him how the originals made me want to be a chimpanzee. he replied,is that right? clearly thinking he has a weirdo for a daughter.
saw 'rise' and i thought it was great. i loved the 'battle' scene on the bridge and i loved caesars frustration... and gosh i hope tom felton doesnt get typecast as an arsehole for the rest of his career... with this and harry pothead, its a possibility. anyhoo....
... i also liked how it set up the annihiliation of the human race.

Great scene! me too! I think most people in the audience gasped loudly at that part. It was crazy! Love the movie,
Jurassic Park is a classic for sure!..But I think they messed up on the sequels big time.
I really hope we get at least two more quality films out of this. I don't know what is planned, but I think a trilogy is in order..
Rise of Planet of the Apes
Planet of the Apes?
Fall of Planet of the Apes??
oh god yeah i groaned very audibly at that one.
