    We live in Manhattan but in a modestly sized one bedroom. Prior we lived in a small studio, but nothing insane like this. Space is definitely limited around here, but that's just nuts right there...

  • I have absolutely no interest in living in NYC (or any other big city). I love my space (indoors and out) way more than anything a big city could offer.

    actually there were 4 to a room, two sets of bunk beds a desk and 4 wall lockers :crazy:

    Yikes. I've seen these type of things as hotels in Japan but I didn't know they are apartments. Where are these pictures from?

    Japan and China....I just googled 'capsule apartment'....the first one built was a hotel, but it was converted to an apartment...sounds like they've caught on somewhat, with demand increasing since the economy started to flag....

    I would too. We stay in a tiny hotel when we go to NYC that has shared bathrooms. Its no big deal. Who would sit in their apartment in NYC anyway - you just need a place to sleep. Having a Kindle, a computer, and a hard drive, and you can have all the books, music, magazines and movies you want.
