That Ben Harper gig should be fucking GREAT. 'Spaceland' is tiny (smaller than the Echo) and tickets are sold at the door, so the tickets will be extremely tough. The Mint is already sold out. These shows will be the closest thing to having Ben play in your garage.
Maybe the NightWatchman on the 12th when Dani's here... It's a Friday so, we can meet for dinner at Downtown Disney and head over to see Tom afterwards. There are several places to eat... including the House Of Blues.
...
But, definately... Chevy. That's almost a no-brainer for me.

Saw the Nightwatchman at the Get Out to Vote show here in Seattle 11/3 and was pleasantly blown away. I thought it was just gonna be Tom Morello solo acoustic like some modern day Woodie Guthrie. Instead, he was plugged in and shredding with 3 other guys and just killin'! If that's what he is doing at that show on the 12th, I'd definitely go...
I Loooovvveeeeee Chevy Metal. And I hate that I'll probably never get to see them live unless I find a way to afford a plane ticket to Topanga Days next year.:(
The Foo Fighters are incredible live. I'd venture to say that next to PJ, they're the best live act I've ever seen.
So if both of them played a show together...I'm salivating just thinking about it!

I agree, the FOO are a SOLID live band. It just comes down to whether or not you like what they sing about and Dave's lyrics.

I saw the Foo Fighters this past summer and was pretty blown away by their live show. Dave is quite the energetic front man.

Foo Fighters are awesome live. They may play pretty much the same setlist every night, but man do they put on a great show! I can't wait to get the Wembley show DVD for christmas...
Say what you want about the Foo Fighters, they are one of the most entertaining live acts out there today. If you have never seen them before, I can almost guarantee you that they will not let you down.
The only down side I would say is their setlists. Thety are mostly a 'Greatest Hits' live act, so if you seen them a bunch of times, you'll probably complain. Not me. I love their live act. I have seen them in arenas, such as the Forum and Long Beach... and at tiny biker bars like Palidino's and small theaters like the Fonda and everything in between. They always do a very good job at keeping the set lively.
And I have met all of them and they are really nice, regular people... always happy to talk with the fans, signing what every you bring to sign and taking pictures with you and your friends.
If you don't like them, that's okay. I just think it is kind of tough to criticize them if you've never seen them. To me, it'd be the same thing as saying, "Pearl Jam sucks and haven't done anything good since 'Vitalogy'." if you haven't seen them since 1993.

Your on!!
I saw a video of Chevy Metal playing Topanga Days and it looked so fun and relaxed. Everyone was dancing and had face paint-definitely my kind of festival.
Awhlie back Mike even suggested a tour with Foo fighters. Although it didn't happen at the time (2006), it would be amazing if both bands did a co headline tour. The Foo fighters are Amazing live. (I don't understand the hate for them on here).
Their live shows are where it's at in terms of the Foos.
Only dowwnfall to a co headline, is that Pearl jam wouldn't play the normal 23-30 song 2.5 hour set, but anything to get them down to Texas it's been WAY too long.
The Foos are AWESOME live, I saw them back in January in Pensacola and I was blown away and most live bands dont blow me away after being spoiled so long by PJ. Dave sounded awesome, the energy was mind-blowing and they played for a long time. I love the fact that they set up the "second" stage so that no matter where you are at some point in the show you have awesome seating. PJ should do that.

I would love it if Pearl Jam did that... a electric show to start.... with an acoustic set in the middle... end with an electric show and encores. The acoustic set can contain slow songs usually reserved as openers, such as 'Release' and 'Long Road'. End the acoustic set with a half and half song, like 'Betterman'. And set it up like the Foos did... as a small, tight stage to give the feel of a small club. Give those fans in the back of the arena a few songs where they are the ones with front row seats. And for the finale... send Mike out to the small stage by himself for 'Yellow Ledbetter' so the people who never get to see how great this song really is... have something to take home with them forever.
...
And I think the Foos borrowed this idea from Weezer. At the Weezer/Foo Fighters shows, the Weezer encore opened with Rivers at the back of the arena for a couple of songs. The fans went crazy for this.

I like the Foos, but there is just something that I don't like about their live shows. I've seen them live twice and I can't put my finger on it. I mean, they were good shows, better than 95% of the bands out there but something just seemed "off" or not right...I dunno.
I'm not saying that Foos and PJ won't ever do a tour or something together, but I don't see it being likely. The Foos will not open for PJ and PJ will not open for the Foos. Don't see it happening...
That said, I couldn't give a giant rat's ass about Muse. Ugh!
