OK so I had to bring this one up cause it was classic...

So my finace's 4 year old son was acting like a complete pain in the ass on our 3rd day in Disney when Jenn (my finace) decided she had had enough of him running off that she was buying him a leash and making him wear it. He started throwing a fit about the leash and beggin not to wear it when Jenn's 2 year old daughter, out of nowhere, says "Drop the leash..drop the leash...get out of my fluffy face!" I couldn't stop laughing for hours...

I hope you told her the correct lyrics so she doesn't embarrass herself when she sings along at a show.

That is too funny. I personally wouldn't leash my kids, mainly because I put the "fear" into them before we ventured out into public...and they actually listened! Although, my Sis's kids each had a pair of harnesses which were definitely needed and used regularly, so I try not to judge. Here's my funny kid story...

While pulling into my driveway, after a long afternoon of errands and listening to my fave PJ songs, my (then) three year old surprised me with his repetitive rendition of black. As I shut off the car (Black was playing at the time), a few minutes went by, and as I am bringing in the groceries, I hear a little voice behind me singing "Do do do do do do dooooh! Cute, huh?
    Huh?!

    Leashes on kids are pathetic

Too funny! I've seen leashes on kids in airports and while I'd say I'm against them in theory for everyday use, I like the idea when traveling. If your kids aren't old enough or savvy enough to stay close, it seems a good alternative. :)

I don't know, when my brother was in first grade, his friend told him he knew the F word, and he taught it to my brother. It was farnacus.

I saw little kids with ear protectors on in the Sub Pop 20 pictures. Cute. Not the kids, just the fact that the young crowd surfing freaks are now in their late 30s and toting kids around.

my brother is autistic and used to bolt into the street when he was 3. people shouldn't judge unless they actually experience that kinda crap..

For those of you criticizing people for using a leash or a harness let me just say I'm not the biggest fan myself but after my fiance's daughter bolted for the street one day and almost got hit by a car and I was standing and looking RIGHT AT HER its hard not to justify one. Parents can not have their eyes glued every second to a young child..its impossible..and in that split second kids like to test the water on how far their limit is..trust me...I wish they would just listen!..thats my 2 cents

There is this novel concept of discipline.

You might as well lock the kid in a cage. That will prevent kidnapping.

How many children do you have PJBuckeye?
  • the funny thing is......people were able to raise their kids for centuries without fucking leashes!!! imagine that?!

i think it's degrading and bad parenting. if you can't keep an eye on your kid or control him when you are out and about without a fucking leash then YOU SHOULDN'T OF HAD KIDS!!!!!!!

it's not a fucking DOG! it's a human being! or are we just happy to be rearing our kids with a slave mentality that most adults seem to be embracing,a result of social engineering.

now if the kid has mental health issues then that would be another story (a good chance it was from the thimerosal in the vaccines)

Discipline? Ah yes... if you so much as give your kid a dirty look these days than Child Protective Services will snatch them up in a heart beat.......

I'm sorry but I prefer to have my children on a leash in a place like Disney as opposed to being called a "child-beater".

I've been raising children for 16 freakin' years now- don't gimme no lip...
