Yes!!! It's definitely very sludgy and riff-heavy, which is a huge part of why I love Down so much. I'm not really digging on Witchtripper, but I've only listened to all of it twice now. Need to let it sink in some more to get a proper feel for it.
Also - I read somewhere that they made a special appearance at some fest the other day and had Rex play a few songs with them!

I love a bit of Down. I didn't realize there was new stuff on the way. How is this being released? An EP followed by a full album? A Bustle In Your Hedgerow is probably the one I listen to most.

It's going to be 4 EP's - all considered Down IV...seems like each one is going to be labeled a different color. They're all set to be released this year! Down II is pretty awesome, probably my 2nd fave after NOLA.

Pretty hard to separate the first two! I took a while to warm to no.3 but it won me over eventually. Would much prefer an album all in one but it'll be fun in four parts I guess. Favourite song is probably Learn From This Mistake....

That's very true!! Same thing for me with the 3rd one, but I get a jonesing for it every now and again. Nothing in Return is a great song, and it was nice when they started closing with that over Bury Me In Smoke, a good change for that tour. Learn From This Mistake is a great tune...I haven't smoked pot in I don't even know how long but that song makes me want to take it up again If I had to pick an absolute fave Down song it'd be Stone the Crow hands down.

Stone The Crow is the first Down song I heard. Absolute corker of a song and the chorus is immense! Never had the chance to see them live yet... :( Maybe someday when the stars align...

I picked up the ep this morning before i left for work.
Only got through the first three songs but i liked them. Loved the riffs on the first song a lot.
 Come back and let us know what you think of the rest of it after you've had a listen!
I'm sooo bummed because they're playing the HOB in Chicago tomorrow and I can't make it to the show. I think this is the first time in at least 6 or 7 years that I've missed their show when they came through town :(

Still so bummed I missed Saturday's show. Encore: Hail the Leaf into Stone the Crow into Bury Me In Smoke with a Nothing in Return tag. Would have been worth it for just that alone!!!

Phil is the singer of Down....I highly recommended checking them out if you can!
 i misread the line-up. It's just Phil Anselmo of Pantera & Down & another band. It's his latest project called Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals.
Like I said i was not too familiar with them. Didn't know he was the singer of Down :fp: Loved Pantera though.
