I just listened to "homecoming" by kayne west which features chris martin from coldplay and it is really a good song. I would like to see EV do something with a similar artist, but i dont think it would ever happen.

i couldn't even venture a guess. i have always wanted to see a beck/EV collaboration outside of the "sleepless nights" cover. if there was a chance for more, it surely would have been during that phase of beck's work.

how about EV and jurassic 5?

we did get the real thing, pj/cypress hill
which kicked ass btw, i can just picture stone getting his jam on

but pj performing with cypress has ALOT more street cred than ed with kanye *shudders*

beat me to it! on the other hand look what mark lanegan did with soulsavers... could be very cool... loved eds sound on that cat power song too... would really like to see him duet with a female voice so he can do the deep baritone thing throughout... im actually more interest in everyones solo efforts at the moment than i am about new PJ (blasphemous i know!)

Please God, No R&B mixed with Pearl Jam.

cause pearl jam and eddie are 2 different things... and because theres a whole lot more to R+B than the shit thats on the radio... the only way ed would ever do it is if it were done right so dont sweat it... i could never see it happening anyway

Lil Wayne is better than Pearl Jam.

  • If it's done well it could be cool. REM has done some pretty cool stuff in that realm. You can't just throw two songs together and hope for the best, collaboration is an art in itself. I could see some ed stuff being turned into something kinda groovy and cool...I hope someone picks up what I'm trying to say here, and it doesn't sound too stupid. I'm too tired to explain myself.

  • EV and r kelly!! they could do "trapped in the closet part 58" or however many of those he's done.

you can't deny that would be hilarious.

    that's a great song.

honestly though, i don't think ed's voice would fit as the r&b hook on a hip hop album. they tend to want someone a little more smooth and theatrical. like those over the top american idol morons.

i doubt it will happen. ed doesn't have much soul anymore. all ragged punk rock growling. i yearn for the good old days when they let stone throw down some funky grooves that ed could really howl over. enough of this comatose style thrash crap.
    and like that... he's gone.

Hey...R&B? O.K. maybe, but I don't think so (wait, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little). But, "McCain Supporters"? That's just insulting and way out of line...

  • it's obvious most of you have no knowledge of what real hip-hop is.

it should be EV and Immortal Technique or wise intelligent of PRT.

talk about a lyrical execution of GB!!
  • And I think it would be cool if this thread went away, lol.

    R&B/RAP/Rock collaborations are:

    L-A-M-E

Save that shit for Bono,Sting, and Carlos "Fucking" Santana.

Eddie does just fine on his own.

I agree! Let Timbaland ruin something else! Yayyyyy!!!

    Personally, I don't think Ed + 'R&B' would work.
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

I also note the references on here to REM trying this theme out, and we all know ho well that worked on around the sun......that was truely awful, and perhaps why that record was one of the worst received REM release of their career despite putting on their one of their finest tracks

wait a minute, weren't Ed and John Legend doing something for a Howard Zinn program or something??? I'm not sure if it was together or they were both contributing individually... Those two together could work.
