Just the greatest band of all time... words can't describe. They are the only music I allow on in the car when we're driving in the dark (preferably in the rain as well, and with street lights glistening through). My top 10 today...

    Ten Years Gone
    Achilles Last Stand
    Going to California
    The Rain Song
    Thank You
    The Song Remains the Same
    Ramble On
Over the Hills and Far Away
    Battle of Evermore
    Stairway to Heaven

(Sorry but I have to mention a few more... That's the Way, All My Love, Tangerine...)

Agreed. I also love the version of "Trampled Underfoot" on the DVD from the Earl's Court show.

Speaking of Earl's Court, I'd love for them to release one of those shows on DVD/Blu-ray and CD.

I know. That song was a mess live.

No Quarter live was amazing. Song Remains the Same version is best song on the album.

Rain Song was pretty close to Top 10 for me. On some days. Today is quite sunny and blisteringly hot, not a Rain Song kind of day. That goofy knight sequence in Song Remains the Same during Rain Song cracks me up.

I like how they played TSRTS and Rain Song back-to-back in a lot of shows.

The Song Remains The Same(The Campaign, The Overture were working titles) was meant to be an instrumental intro to the Rain Song.

Both songs are connected to a similar legend....As it goes either Pete Townshend or George Harrison told Page that he "didn't have the smarts to write a rock opera"(Townshend) or "couldn't write a ballad"(Harrison)

I think that George one is correct. I know I read that somewhere.

    From Wikipedia:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rain_Song#Recording
George Harrison was reportedly the inspiration for "The Rain Song" when he made a comment to Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, about the fact that the group never wrote any ballads.[3][4] In tribute to Harrison, the opening two chords are recognisably borrowed from the first line of his ballad "Something" with The Beatles.[3]

sorry to break the rules for not listing ten songs, but I love to watch live performances of Misty Mountain Hop circa '73. Jimmy Page is so freaking awesome it's not even funny!
and it might be overrated/overplayed but Kashmir just exudes sexuality.

Well I am a HUGE PJ Fanatic in every way, and have been hooked on their music for 20 years now. But growing up I slept, ate and breathed Zeppelin, and Zep were everything to me. I still listen to them all the time... So, someone asked me a few months ago, if I absolutely HAD to choose my ONE favorite band, which would it be, and it was a tough choice, but I said the Mighty Zeppelin. :D
