After watching the doc, I was wondering if the Eagles were ever going to reissue and remaster their '70s albums...

Love his role in Jerry Maguire where he take no shit from Cruise over the phone.

    Felder grudge aside, RIP.
  • I love the Eagles, and Glenn was my favorite. So sad to hear that he passed away. Grateful that I had the chance to see the Eagles several times about 8 years ago. May he RIP.

To be honest, I've never been a huge Eagles fan but they made a handful of songs I've always liked that are really fine like "Take it Easy", "Lyin' Eyes" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and they were all Frey songs.

    Another sad loss.

Very sad. I played the crap out of both Desperado and The Long Run.

Two days before his death, ie, just on Friday, my fiancé and I stayed home and I tossed on "Desperado" on the turntable and we drank wine and enjoyed that album.... couldn't believe how GOOD that album was and still is..... so when it was done, she says "I'm in such an Eagles mood, throw on another one!!" and on went "Hotel California" which was then followed by "The Long Run." and then "Greatest Hits."... we had such a wicked night playing board games, just the two of us, taking turns flipping the records, and drinking a couple bottles of wine.... we hadn't enjoyed our turntable that much in many months. Then on fucking Monday... the news broke about Glen. God damn...

With Bowie, Lemmy and Frey, it's about time this video has a new verse added to it... jesus fuck.

Funny, one of my earliest memories is hearing his solo hit ballad, The One You Love, when I was 1 or 2 years old. Those solo hits like The Heat Is On, You Belong To The City and Smuggler's Blues take me back to my childhood as well.

I'm not a fan, but I am partial to The Last Resort. It's kind of cheezy I suppose, but I just really enjoy it.

The Eagles Rockumentary was second to none- can't recall the title, but it was a retro of their whole career, it was just song after song of oh shit I forgot they sung that, and it was hit after hit

Surprised so many are not fans of The Eagles.  They have so many hits and their guitar solos are so memorable.

I really like them. I think their arrogance kinda turns people off.

"History of the Eagles: The Story of an American Band" is the name of the doc and it really is fantastic. (I'd say the only one I've enjoyed more than this is "Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers: Running Down a Dream".) Both are top notch and exhaustive in how much they cover. I've always liked the Eagles, but watching the doc takes your appreciation to a whole other level. My dad had the same response to it and now can't stop listening to/talking about the Eagles any time we get together, haha. He happened to be in town the week after Glenn passed, and he and I hopped in the car and took a (very long) day trip to Winslow, AZ just to say we stood on a corner in Winslow, AZ.

Kinda always thought Dave Abbruzzese was the Don Felder of Pearl Jam haha.

They're down under at present. Would be good to see them again but caught the at Twickenham in 2006 and Dublin in 2015 with Bernie who was awesome. Got GA and just strolled to 2nd from front and centre. Crazy. Wish Randy were there though he was my favourite and I'd love to have seen him sing live.
