Just seen Seattle 2 fanview thread and had to look twice. That is an incredible setlist.

Eddie certainly knew how to finish in style !!!!

Imagine if he threw in Ledbetter too?

Come on Eddie let's have seattle 2 as the next DVD ... With a bonus track of Ledbetter with mike thrown in.....

Quick impromptu release - next week?

Too many too close to say for me, but I will say one moment, one verse at every single show captured the essence of this tour, and it went like this:

    Well, you have suffered enough
    And warred with yourself
    It's time that you won

Been to the last 9 shows and in my humble opinion Oakland night 2 had the best setlist. But to each's own. Santa Barbara being a close 2nd..

Not having the opportunity to see any of the shows because Ed is allergic to Dallas I'd have to say I like Santa Barbara the best.

It's a great set, but it just seems that after every show people say thats the best so far!! I am going to say Chicago night 1 was my favorite set.

This song made every time they played it amazing---esp. w/strings.

Without going back to check the threads, I do not believe the first 3-4 shows (at least?) got this one...

For me, Chicago 2 was the best set list....and I am biased as hell cuz I was there, I know, but that counts for something.

There seemed to be at least 1 song at just about every show that I would have LOVED to have gotten...I think my favorite song that I got at the shows I went to was Love Boat Captain in Minneapolis--not just because it was a rarity and very (VERY) unexpected, but it also because it is one of my favorite pj songs to date.
    Makes much more sense...

I'll have to give it to Seattle 2 -- no contest. Oakland 2 may be a close second though. I know I'm biased since I was there but Oakland 2 got Walking the Cow, Long Road, Sometimes, Off He Goes, Parting Ways, regular betterman w/ save it for later tag, if you want to sing out, waiting for a friend, open all night, etc...

Of course, Seattle 2 got many of these songs plus MOTH, Wishlist, You're True, RITFW, I am mine, songs with string quartet, Immortality. Plus the length of the show. Winner by a mile = Seattle 2! (in my opinion) :D

pdalowsky, the true set may be even better as apparently Immortality is missing from Sea's post for some reason :geek:

Wow, looking over the set lists -- Falling Slowly was NOT at every show?!?!?! They musta been working on it early on... If you're nominating a setlist without that song in it, forgetaboutit.

As we're talking best "Set List" and not performance, I can't distinguish Oak2 over Sea2 -- but performance-wise, the additon of the string quartet on a number of stops nudges those performances up. The plucking of the string section strings at the end of Falling Slowly made those versions just f'n epic. The quartet mix wasn't that good in Seattle, tough to hear 'em, but when it got quiet ... it got awesome!

Don't sleep on Philly, even in that garbage dump of a theater, the cover of Drive All Night may have been the best part of any show of the tour

  • I don't know about the "best," but St. Louis was special. I've wanted to hear Eddie do Trouble, Thumbing My Way, and Driftin' for so long, I lost it. I cried like a baby when when Eddie went into Trouble and by the time he got to Thumbing My Way, I was gone.

Also, Unthought Known was great, that song has such great energy and makes me feel like I'm on top of the world.
    Hearts and thoughts they fade....
    fade away...

I am at peace with my lust.....for Eddie.

It's easy and more objective for me as I went to none :(

But Seattle 2 was an easy pick on setlists alone.

I prefer that he played almost all his own stuff with a couple covers. Only Satellite and first, rare Longing to Belong and Setting Forth. Slow Lukin.

Yes, I was at this, but the first 3 I was hoping for, and the last was a complete, rare shocker. Only one you got all that ( plus Falling Slowly, etc.).

The other boot (he says prayerfully) I would buy is Santa Barbara to get the best flavor of the covers, but extremely glad I was at the Beacon on night 2, and that's where my vote lies.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
