I was at DC2 last night & got great seats center orch row L - 12th row). I was so excited to be there in such a small intimate venue. (especially with a 430xxx 10c number. Thanks 10c!)

Anyway, the 2 guys in front of me (row K) got their tickets & figured out they were in row 11. The one guy looks at the other one & says "That sucks" & a girl behind me in line got row G (row 7) & siad she wasn't very happy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!!! How spoiled are you - people wouuld kill for those seats. I will probably never be that close again. The two guys looked bored & even left during the end of the 1st encore.

I am so happy they did random seating (even for PJ - I didn't win the lottery but the people who won looked very happy).

I was just so put off by those who thought they "deserved" better seats. Those of us with higher numbers deserve to be there as much as you do - and we are happy just to be there. If your seats sucked so much, I'm sure someone up in the balcony would've traded with you in a second.

UNREAL!!!! (sorry, just had to vent!)

i think some fans feel they deserve to be rewarded for all the money they spend, time they contribute to the board, etc., etc,.
i can understand the disappointment, but you're right. when its randomized like they are doing for these shows, its just part of the fun.
i'm anxious about where my 10C seats will be on Friday but only anxious because i'm excited to actually be there!

Let those loser fans try living in europe and read about the EV shows instead of actually attending them.

Ungrateful is the word that comes my mind. Lots of people can't even afford to sit in shitty seats at EV shows or PJ shows and they're complaining about the goddamn 11th and 7th row. It would of pissed me off too. I would of gotten over it real quick cause I was at the show, but still, just sayin, I hear ya.

HOW EFFING CLOSE DO PEOPLE WANT TO BE? Can you see from the 11th? Yes. Can you hear everything perfectly? Yes WHERE DO PEOPLE WANT TO BE SEATED? INSIDE EDS NOSE? Come on.

If your inside 20 rows from the front you are all good. Even if you aren't you just won't be able to study the missing hair follicles missing in part of Ed's beard.

while waiting to pick up my tix for Camden 1, every group (3) of people that walked by after getting their seats complained. one included a group of ladies that weren't happy about having dead center first reserved section. WOW, and i thought my sense of entitlement at times was bad.

The fans are getting really lame; there are a lot of rich older entitled people in the PJ camp now.

  • That's insane. Seriously just pisses me off. I've been 20+ rows for both shows and I and the people around me were all just happy to be there. Besides, the lights go down and Ed comes out and starts playing and the distance just disappears :)

I wouldn't call them fans, but I sat behind such a couple in their 60's They saw PJ at a Bruce show? and thought it would be a fun evening to see ED since they lived in DC.

I don't think they even own a CD player.

But, I am grateful for any tickets I can get. Especially since they sell out so quick.

Having said that I think the senoriy # thing needs to go. Many of us let our fan club memberships lapse in the late 90's when the fan club sucked. (sorry)I have met many fans who this happened to- and where did are old #'s go?
I think anyone who has had a membership for at least 5 years should be equal.

well, what I thought was weird (I'm not complaining) was that I got the same row (G) both nights, only a few seats away from eachother.

Again, the show was great and I had an amazing time thanks to 10c and EV, but I just thought it was strange to see randomized seating seat me in almost the same spots both nights.

I was right out of high school in the early 90's & didn't own a credit card. Plus, I diidn't have the money to go on tour with them so to speak or even own a computer until the later part of the nineties. It should be random at all shows - makes it so much more fun!

  • i agree with you that its off putting when people act like that, but we dont need to get into the random seating discussion around here again, it rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

  • Yeah, that's crap. I got shut out of MSG 1 and 2 Presale, as well as the presale for Toronto and Boston solo shows. But I got tickets through Ticketmaster and as far as I was concerned, I was in the door so I was lucky.

    That makes me angry!

exactly, you should be happy to sit anywhere, you dont need to be sitting in eddies lap to enjoy yourself and if you do then just dont come.

no - as I said in a later post, no one could ruin my night. It was awesome. They were only 1 seat in front of me - I was fine where I was. My husband told me they left early, at that point I was up near the stage.

  • Probably going to get yelled at, but I want to share a different perspective: Believe me, I am happy to be in the building. I pick up my 10c tickets and, like most people picking up their tickets, I am hoping to get row a or b (which was row 3 & 4 in dc.) Part of the excitement of the shows is not knowing where your seats are going to be until the day of the show. There is always the hope (which I love that 10c provides this for me every show) I am going to be in one of those rows in the center. When I see I am in a row other than this, yes, I admit I am disappointed. It is not due to a sense of entitlement or being spoiled (though 10c does spoil us.) It is due to having the hope gone. I am still happy to be going to the show. I just know that from the further back rows I have very little chance of catching a pick, drinking from Ed's wine bottle, or getting a tambourine. And, yes, I realize I get to hear a great show and I don't have to have a pick to enjoy the show. But for that little bit of time that the hope has vanished, I, personally, will be a little disappointed. I am not mad at 10c or think I am entitled to the front row. And, quite possibly, the other people you perceive to be acting on a sense of entitlement aren't either.

    Peace

I understand what you are saying - there's always a little disappointment when you are hoping for front row (no one on here would say they wouldn't love to have front row - I'd love a pick, tambourine, etc...) Both groups seemed disappointed because they never sit back that far with their usual fan club seats. The 2 guys were ironically near me in line in DC for Pearl Jam & were complaining there also.

So the people who have paid their dues year after year should just get cast aside because some people decided that the 10C wasn't worth the effort???

Yeah...makes perfect sense...if you are one of the people who said screw it!!!
  • And, of course, there are the times I walk away from the ticket window with my row 9, complaining to my friend - "I can't believe it! We are all the way back in row 9. That sucks!" All of this is said in fun, knowing full well we are spoiled as hell in 10c. But I could see how someone might hear me say that and assume I am walking around with a sense of entitlement. This would be their perspective and another post would be put on here about spoiled fans. I just want to suggest that maybe we would be better off giving people the beneift of doubt a little more. yes! thank you for posting this.

like many others, i too have high hopes when picking up my 10c tix and am, depending on the time of the month, slightly or incredibly disappointed when i don't get the coveted seats in the first couple rows. however, my disappointment quickly or not so quickly, depending on the time of the month, wanes once the lights come down.

on the contrary, when i go in KNOWING where i'm sitting, even if it's way up in the gallery -- where i'll be at the auditorium theatre in chicago on thursday -- i couldn't be happier just knowing i'll be graced with eddie's presence again, regardless of the time of the month! :D

I got the EXACT same seats two nights in a row.

One night with my 10c seats and the second with a girls seats that I met on this board. Both times Row M... all the way to the side... two seats from the end of the row... against the wall.

    Trippy, huh?

The exact same seats which appeared to be some of the worst 10c seats in the house. I don't think anyone behind me had 10c seats. I was disappointed... but truth be said... the seats were GREAT!! :)
