I take it that's the arch?

Arch was my first thought as well, but it does look like a wave. I think that it's actually *both*

That's seems to be the point.

I almost never bash posters, but that is downright ugly.

    Good concept, poorly designed.

Yikes. At least that dinosaur one could give a little bit of character to a kid's room or something. That wave tonight is just a cop out... I mean, seriously, how long could it possibly take any artist to come up with that? 30 seconds? 40 seconds? Simple little lettering and a couple lines and a poof where the wave crashed. Boom. Poster done.

Somebody forgot about commissioning a poster for St Louis, me thinks... and this is what they got with a one day design and print notice.

At least it sounds like they got a killer fucking show so who gives a shit about the 30 second poster???!!!

I was expecting sooooooooooo much more, but honestly it is not that bad in person. I think I like it because the album was conceived/written in Hawaii and it has that surfboard (obviously since the dude makes surfboards) feel to it...I guess :? But if you look at some of his other designs - http://www.mauilongboards.com/JohnGlomb.html - I think the poster could have been so much better. I agree with the person who said they think he forgot until the last minute...I think this surfboard design proves that - http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=203167481148&set=a.191956641148.128836.191821031148&type=1&theater

At least everytime I look at it I can be reminded of how killer the night was and how great Eddie's storytelling was...Eddie was in TOP form!!!!

  • How can someone who did the Chicago & Minneapolis posters have made the St Louis one as well? Quite shocking difference in artistic quality.

I totally thought that same thing...the surfboard shape would have been totally perfect! I just think the guy does not have any experience making posters. He makes killer surf boards though, so you can see he's got skillz. On a side note; I have been looking back and St. Louis has never really gotten a stellar poster...
