  • Was I the only one who was disappointed with Alpine Valley as a venue? The guys put on a great show... But no camping, $13 beers (yes I know this is the "norm"), and a giant sound booth in the middle of the lawn, blocking stage view? Don't get me wrong, it was a great weekend, but I just didn't really enjoy the place as much as I could have.

Also, has PJ ever done anything like this, enough to where it would be called a routine? I feel like the band as a whole tries its damnedest to keep us on our toes as far as most things go (except the South, sorry about that guys down there).

Without a DD I don't care for Alpine, Like you said...No camping and you're out in the middle of nowhere. I live about 25 miles from a/v but thats a long stretch to drive in the early morning hours after a show, even after a just a few! The way these cops are nowadays...I had to stay 100% sober for the 2nd show and it just wasn't the same!

I will say one thing about it... At least we had an extra hour to sober up while waiting for traffic afterwards.

This is the drunkest state in the union with the most 2nd (and 3rd, and 4th, and...) chances for drunk drivers. As someone who's been dry for a while now, I sincerely thank you for being responsible on the roads...this place seriously concerns me after dark.

Seriously. I've never heard of a band signing a 3 year contract to play a venue.

(at the risk of being disowned for such knowledge) Insane Clown Posse booked their Gathering of the Juggalos site for i believe 5 years after the first successful weekend there.

The same person who told me PJ was playing labor day weekend months before they announced it (who works there) just told me they have signed to play there Labor Day weekend for the next 3 years.

Alpine did a lot for them at PJ20. Pearl Jam may do it as a thank you.

    I'm up for it!

Pfft, I'll go even if they don't show up. We can sit in the parking lot and watch the DVD. ;)

But I am down for Alpine again, was an amazing weekend. When I was leaving the show on night two,a lady that worked there said see ya next year, but that could have meant Alpine in general but here's to hoping!

Alpine, somewhere near the twin cities, and red rock has a good ring to it

  • I sincerely hope this is true. I would buy the 3 year pass tomorrow. Loved those shows, and would like some more.
