Should Pearl Jam do what Metallica's doing?

In terms of letting fans hear clips of any future albums while they're being made? Of should they (PJ) stay to what they always do - making us fans wait until midnight/day of the release to hear new songs.

I would say 80% of hardcore Pearl Jam fans don't wait til' midnight these days to get the new album if you know what I mean.

Metallica has to do something for the fans after the Napster debacle.

Why would you want Pearl Jam to sell out , start sucking terribly and tarnish the music that you once cherished??

I'd like to see a documentary on them recording an album, like Metallica did with the black album. What was that called? Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica or something like that?

SVT is incredible, but I would like to see more of the writing process and recording and everything that goes into it.

pearl jam should not do what Metallica's doing... whatever that may be, i didn't even read the OP.

No. They should not make pathetic rehash of songs that people who know nothing about real metal besides what they hear on FM radio will eat up and take to the streets yelling "OH MY GOD METALLICA IS BACK! PRAISE LARS!"

No, Pearl Jam should not do that.

Not sure what "neer" means, but those are two of their best albums along with Yield.

I just cried a little when you said that. Pearl Jam is always pushing the envelope musically. Every album builds on the one prior. While i do not go crazy for every song on every album, every album viewed as a whole is accomplishing something.I feel that I am informed enough musically to see the bigger picture of what they are trying to do. Its an ever evolving sound.

Metallica retreads old songs (Unforgiven Too...come on) and parades Lars around in eyemakeup so they can seem relevant to a younger hipper crowd...for shame. Cliff Burton would throw himself out of the bus window on his own if he was forced to play this crap today!!!!

well, to get back on topic, I think it would be cool to hear snipits of the new songs prior to them being released.

Agreed. I was sorta hoping they would do a SVT revisited ;) with the release of the Avocado album.
