The current occupant can't even get his daughter age right...

"You know, Malia and Sasha generally finish their homework a day ahead of time," Obama said. "Malia's 13, Sasha's 10."
Am I the only one who's parents (who I saw every day, very involved, coaching teams/helping with homework etc...) forgot my age occasionally? Or missed it by a year? Hell, I forget how old I am sometimes, and I'm only freaking 20.

    It shows in your naivete

What will come of this country if we take away the tax breaks for Exxon and their ilk? I sure don't want to find out.

My point is that I hear this "we all have to give and sacrifice for the greater good" but really it's not "we", it's more like "someone else". Once "I" is included, then it's unreasonable and outrageous.

Taking our tax percentage back to Clinton rates will cost us a hell of a lot more then $75 tickets and a $40 analog membership.

    you're assuming here...

I'm all about the "we"...I think all tax rates should go back to Clinton era rates....

taxes are cost of being a citizen...we've got lots of things to pay for...time to pay up and quit kicking the can down the road....

I am assuming and talking in general, but I'm basing my assumptions off of:

    1) The majority of PJ fans are more liberal then conservative

    2) Liberals are backing Obama on raising taxes

    3) This forum turns into a freak-out fest whenever prices go up on tickets, memberships, posters, or shipping costs ... and this amounts to an extra of $2 to $20 at most.

If giving a little more money to support one of our favorite bands causes that big of a hissyfit, why the heck are we OK with giving more of our money to a federal government that spends 20% of the budget on funding three military operations?

I don't think the President thinks we're stupid. Stupid would be something would financially ruin the country's chances of getting back on its feet. I think that Republicans like to present that the only way to economic salvation is through austere measures; but, I don't think reality actually works that way. I don't think he wants to ruin the country, which is something many conservatives seem to also want to promote either outright or through subtext. Call me crazy, but he'd like to be re-elected and recognized as the second Democrat that took an ailing economy left by a Republican and turned it around. I don't think he'll have the luck Clinton had since we're way further down the rabbit hole than Clinton was, but I trust he's doing a good job and is a man who is moderate in all things. I've always admired Obama's Spock-like personality...he's a logical thinker even down, I honestly believe, to the point that his motto is very likely, “The good of the many outweighs the good of the few, or the one.” I believe he has the "good of the many" at heart and will act with wisdom to make sure most of us are in the boat.

True, but this is why Conservatives hate him. Because they only care about their own selfish interests.

Kind of funny that I was listening to PJ Radio today and at one point I hear Ed say, "you've made us all fuckin' rich and we don't need no tax breaks 'cuz you've made us all millionaires so we're going' to keep playing and its gonna cost us $18,000 but we don't care, we're going to keep playin and give it back to you!" Of course in light of this thread, I quickly enlarged the radio station window to see that it was 2003 and NY. I'm assuming MSG but 2003 was one of the years of the massive Bush tax cuts for the top 1%, of which Ed and the boys are now members of.

Thanks Pearl Jam for breaking the rules and giving something back. What's the fine at Alpine Valley for playing beyond the curfew?

    Peace.
