Thanks for all of the information, and I think you have convinced me to go (not that I really needed too much convincing).
I tried to buy the tickets through the presale, but was one of many whose refresh button apparently didn't work well enough. I felt scorned, and then missed out on the public sale. If I can wrangle up some tickets for my wife and I, we will be there.
Eddie Vedder on Saturday, and then The Black Keys on Sunday...not a bad weekend.
I contemplating buying tickets for Eddie's show in Minneapolis this weekend, but I'm wondering if the show would be worth the steep asking price from Stubhub. Does he have a backing band at all? I've seen the setlists, and I like what I see, but I don't know anything about the shows themselves. How have they been received? Is it literally just him and a uke?
Lots of good fanviews in the "given to fly" section of the board, if you haven't been there.
It's so hard to say that Drive All Night wasn't my top moment, it was just so emotional. Unthought Known, Long nights, Speed of Sound, Tonight You Belong to me and Parting Ways were incredible.
i wish i have the chance to be in one..hope next year in europe
+1
i'd drop everything to see an Eddie solo show, everything. the people who managed to get tickets and see these shows are very lucky and hopefully some day ,in the not-so-distant future, us europeans can experience it too

It may be too late to give some advice but if you still have the chance to see EV...go. I was just in Detroit (from Ohio, it was a three hour drive there and back) and it was...magical. I had expected good things but what I got was beyond my imagination. I cried multiple times...which may not be the coolest thing to admit BUT it speaks for the level of energy that Ed created. I was completely blown away...this concert, truly, was moving.
Like I said...it may be too late to get my opinion in...but hopefully if you ever get the chance to go you'll remember this and go.

I'll tell you this: If Eddie was playing a show on Thursday in my town, and Pearl Jam was playing Friday, and I could only choose one show to see ... I'd see Ed.
Oh HELL no, I'd take Pearl Jam any day.
But go to the show if you can, they are fantastic.
I've seen Pearl Jam 18 times.
I've seen Ed solo once.
Right now, to me, the Ed shows are more special.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
more commercial? i thought this tour was way better than 08 and 09. what's commercial about ed talking about his daughters and clarence clemons? ed is so much more comfortable up there by himself.
Meaning !! the people that were not at the 08-09 tour are now coming to these shows . Feels like its getting out of hand ..
i have no problem with what ED talks about on stage or off . OR anything to do with EV
Really reminds me of PJ blowing up . OR DMB blowing up . Went from one kind of fan being there to a bunch of people that look really out of place .
My first show EV show was the Ryman . Hands down the best Venue for sound !!
To a bunch of drunks in Detroit . the standing up sitting down to let a drunk threw gets old . and to watch all the fights was old . I was there to hear the music !!
So you're saying all the MTV kids and frat boys are really into Ukulele songs?
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
so you aren't saying the vedder shows are more commerical but rather more popular/main stream? I could definitely see that. And I do realize there are a lot of people screaming out stupid crap but on the flip side I feel an energy amongst the crowd that hasn't been around for a long time; maybe even as far back as the yield tour. It's a genuine collective excitedeness (sp?) amongst the whole arena; people just want to explode and rock out. I think for the most part it's extremely passionate fans that have a real love for the band as well as ed solo. the people yelling out songs, well to a degree it's acceptable since the guy on stage is a rock god imo. As far as the drunks, well that's an easy one, don't sell liquor.
Overall the Ed shows are really, well just awesome. I hope he does another tour soon.

You will feel like you are an invited guest in his home for the evening. These shows are completely amazing. I guarantee you will really really like it, if not love the experience.
